There are 18 casinos in Poland, such as the Marriott Hotel & Casino in Warsaw. But, strangely, casinos are limited to 70 slot machines. They have table games, but no one mentions craps. Maybe at the Marriott. Let us know what you see.

Preacher,

Exactly! I will be in Warsaw soon and I was thinking about checking that casino out. But as you said, there is no mention of dice in any of the info that I could find.

If Poland does not have craps, I wonder why not?! Its a mystery…

Lou

Loucifer, In my travels in Europe I’ve only found 1 casino with decent tables. For the most part there are two reasons for the lack of tables, first is profit for the casino and secondly is interest in the game. Remember it only takes one dealer to deal blackjack, while it takes 3 to 4 dealers (plus the push) to staff a dice table and all of the European casinos I’ve visited are very small. If you’re in London I’d recommend a visit to the Hippodrome in Leicester Square. The bottom line is if you were traveling to find a decent casino, you’d go west to Las Vegas. My wife (Little Debbie) reminds me when we’re traveling that we’re on vacation, not hitting the tables. Enjoy yourself and don’t waste your time trying to find a table.

Been many years (maybe 20) since we have been to England, but we did find a couple of craps tables–and then they only offered single odds. The tables did not open until around noon and mostly on the weekends.

They also had a strange rule that you had to go by the casino, present your passport, register and come back in something like 48 hours before you could enter the gaming area. Seems like they wanted to protect the "foreign" customers by making sure they did not lose all their money and did not have $$$ to return to their home country. Go Figure. I have heard they do not do that any more.

They also had some blackjack but the dealers dealt quick as lightening. It was definitely not a game where you could relax and enjoy the game. All 6 and 8 deck games.

Roulette was the game of choice. A few slow machines but at that time nothing you would recognize like the machines you could find anywhere in the U.S.

You could not drink at the tables—you had to order your drinks and go to a lounge to consume your beverage of your choice.

Just wonder how things have changed over the past 20 years.

Adding to MasterBlaster, the game I found in Copenhagen was Rocket 7’s. It’s a very short table dealt by a single dealer on a 7-8′ table. While speaking to management and the dealer, they noted that "American Craps" was too complicated for their taste. That could very well be the case in Poland. Could be silly laws, but could be taste.

I most likely won’t be able to play, but it is just a curiosity at this point. Perhaps the game is too complex for their tastes, or there is some other reason. I can almost guarantee though that if an American style game does exist their, they will have never seen a person who can shoot like me!

Lou

Be careful. Some of these casinos will rather pay you in in lead vs silver if you win too much. 😉
