2nd Craps Trip Since GTC Seminar

Spread the love

I went on my 2nd trip since the seminar in August I attended. I’ve been practicing on a fairly consistent basis working on my toss technique and documenting them. I’m almost done with my 5000 tosses. I wanted to try things out, at a different casino, see if I could correct some of the betting errors I made in my 1st trip. The 1st time with the dice, I didn’t roll more than 10 times, I believe I was done in 8 tosses. The 2nd time I got the dice, I had my 1st 30+ roll hand. It was an amazing experience. My 1st point was a 9, I swear it took an hour for me to throw a 9, I must have tossed 30 times, hitting every number 4s,5s, 6s, 8s, 10s! I know Dom isn’t going to like this, but I placed $2 on each of the hardways, I hit every one of them, no less than 2 times. I hit the hardways so many times, that the entire craps table went from not betting on them, to there being a stack of chips on each of the hardways! I remember Dom saying that at some point in time when you’re having a solid hand, it becomes all about the roll and less about the money. I can say I experienced that. I did my best to have 2 comebets along with my point, but I was more focused on being relaxed, making sure my palms weren’t sweaty and envisioning the point. I swear it took forever to hit that 9, but I did it. I moved on to a 6 as my point, I hit a hard 6 within a few tosses along and moved on to an 8. I got the 8 after about 6 rolls, I had a comebet of a 5 that and a 10 with odds that I made in between that 8. I tossed another 6 as my point and after about 5 rolls, I finally 7’d out. When I came up for air, I looked around and the people at the table are far more excited than I was. I was upset, cause I felt that the toss that was the 7 felt good! I was 1 point short of a fire bet and this table didn’t have the bet that pays you for hitting all the low numbers or all the high numbers or all the numbers. Only number I didn’t roll was 2!

The 3rd time I had another 20+ roll hand! I made another 3 points, it took me a long time to make them, but I did. I like the table I was at, it was a bit shorter than the previous casino that I had to stand on my toes to get my arm out there. I’m left hand, so I shot from SL2 this time as oppose to SL1. At the previous casino the stickman was complaining about my arm coming past him. I was fortunate to have a shooter in SL1, who had read Frank’s book and had some knowledge of what I was doing, and he told me he’d step back from the table when I was shooting, it was in his benefit as that guy went from $12 on 6 and 8 and kept pressing until there was $120 on both the 6 & 8. When I 7’d out on my 3rd time with the dice, I colored up, made a few hundred bucks and walked away. This trip I really learned a few things that I want to make sure I keep as a habit. I closed my eyes prior to tossing the dice and envisioned the number I wanted to make, I made sure my palms weren’t sweaty and I made sure I took my time to have the dice in my fingers like I wanted them, closed my eyes, took a deep breath, opened my eyes turned my head to and made contact with the place on the table where I wanted the dice to land. Only regret I had is that I wasn’t more aggressive on the amount of odds, I was a bit conservative on them and I believe I gave away alot of money from just being a bit too conservative, but I suppose that was because I was focused more on the roll than the bet. So in the future I may have to learn how to balance the betting aspect and focusing on the roll better. Overall I was pleased with me not placing a bet on numbers, when I didn’t have the dice, I used the 5 count and it saved me money. I believe I found a table I love along with a pre-toss method that works for me. Now I’m going to practice that, so when I’m at any casino it will be 2nd nature!

What can we say. What a great read. It made all the hard work the instructors do during the class very satisfying. That was not a great report with the dice, but an outstanding example of what we preach and teach. You mentioned so many principles that Dom emphasizes–five count, play conservative, come betting, and much more. Such great discipline.

It is such a pleasure to see a student who takes to heart what is taught and takes it all to the table. You said you were a little conservative in your betting but you were certainly doing everything correct with your throw. The betting will become more relaxed with time as will a natural progression in pressing your bets as you become more confident with your new skills.

We see a lot of good posts on success in the casino, but yours was one that showed you are definitely on your way to becoming an advantage player.

We hope to see you soon both in a refresher class and in the casinos. Your continued success you will be having in the future is here. Keep up the good work. Hope to see more posts from you in the future.

Doc said it all especially the part of this being a report on the proper way to play!

Nothing wrong with laying some hardways. If you remember I say that you go ahead and do that but use a portion of your buy in for them and after 5 or so sessions, see if you made money on them.

I loved everything about this report! and isn’t it the truth – it does become all about the roll and not the money. So now what you need to do is to get some chips and during a part of your practice, practice with chips and your betting increases so that also become second nature

Awesome report and rolling! It’s an awesome feeling when you’re able to be in that zone and you’re firing on all cylinders!

Keep it up!

An excellent report. You did a great job on focusing, and mental preparedness, which are so important to success. If you have a practice table, I would suggest you practice the betting as you practice your toss. This will help you with progression. However, you are a relatively new member of GTC, and I can assure you, the betting will come with time and practice. It has also been several months since your class, so this might be a good time for a refresher class. Dom is putting more emphasis on betting in class, which could also be of benefit for you. Keep us posted as to how you are doing.
