Question from a new student attending in August

Spread the love

Hi All
I thought these questions would be good for everyone:

Dom, i will not be a pain in the butt, and bug you all the time. If you do not want to read or answer this long email i understand. I will not right a book. this is mark, we spoke today on the phone, i signed up for the seminar in atlantic city and bought your video, you said if i had a question to email you.

a little about me so it might help you answer a couple of question.

I am all ears, will listen and apply 100%, and will be a good student
I am 60 years old, no kids at home
no debt no house payment, no car payment
my wife and i both work
i have read books about craps, watched video, youtube, went to the casinos watched, and played at the casinos.

My wife and i have a trip going to vegas, next week, and i am going to play, so that i can keep up the throwing everyday. i am not going to bet alot, just for throwing purpose right now

Questions are on betting;.
1: Do you have your bets on, on you come out roll and do you recommend it?

Dom:
First thing – You will hear me say in class and give you specifics about why you should look only at our videos and read only our books because we are just based in the math and physics of the game – not hunches – Next on to your first question – No – Even though you have comebets out there and you are setting the hardways, a normal player does not have their odds working. Also, if that 7 does come – I treat all those odds coming back in my rack as a Christmas gift

2. do you play a short game when rolling and bring your bets down after X amount of wins?

Dom: ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you are playing with an edge you are costing yourself money by bringing down you bets

3. I assume you play all the place bets, not just inside??

Dom: You know the first 3 letters in the word assume :)))))) We will preach to you and try to convince you that you want to become a come bettor – not a place bettor at all. Comebets have the lowest house edge and that is the bet you want to make. I hope you switch to becoming a come bettor

thanks for your time , i look forward to watching your video, meeting you and learning from you in may, and if you have any suggestions please pass them on. Mark

We must agree with Dom on the answers to your questions—which are excellent.

One additional item concerning leaving your come bets on when having a come out roll after making a point. As Dom said, if you do have that dreaded 7 on this come out roll you lose all of your odds bets and your still have the dice. As you see the dealer take down all of your bets off the table, it can be a large distraction and often lower your confidence level. Something you don’t need.

If the 7 does appear on this come out roll, often this is an indication of what just might happen again in the very near future so be happy you got your odds back.

Play smart. Follow the math.

Doc. you had me laugh a little on this one . I on my first try with come bets did not think of what may come till I rolled my 3 rd. 7 . Then I put 2 on the red on the 4 th come out roll which did not get all of my come bets back up but close . I did not think that some other thing was about to happen except a longer roll .Which did happen for the next come out roll I asked the dealer how much I needed to kept my come bets up . It worked good enough that I did win a come bet .
I posted this roll back when it happened .
I now do not bet on the 7 unless I have more then 4 come bets out and feel that the roll is just starting . lol 😀
Since that was my first try with come bets I remember it .For one thing the Don’t play was vary happy along with the place betters . I was making vary little compared to the others at the table .
It was kind of sad that I did not throw a repeater till I had 5 come out 7s . At the time I also was not doing full odds on pass line bets do to small BR . But I was VARY happy when I did make that come bet . 😀
I have since tried more come bets with some wins tho . It just seems that the reatpeters that I do throw are not with the come bets that I have on the table .If I kept tract it would be untrue I think .
Good Rolling. 😀 🙂

Don’t hedge those comebets with an any seven bet. Why make a bet that is negative – the any 7 – with a bet that is positive – the comeout roll. If anything, put a little more on the passline.

Dom so are you saying that for each unite that you have in come bets you would raise your pass line bet by the same unite bet ?
I understand that in classes now they talk more about betting then they did when I took the class .
I just take my odds back most of the time . But I do like it when there is more then 3 come bets out there to leave them up IF I think that I can still keep the roll up .It is if I feel it . I have been were I got odds on 4 come bets back to roll a 7 just a few rolls later tho . Which I was happy that I got those odds back .
It seems that the older I get the more I rely on my feeling .
It kind of bothers me when I have 2 come bets out there and have a roll in the teens or 20 s and do not win one of those come bets .
I remember a session I had at a casino were I rolled 3 times with this guy that would bet across . He would take down his bet that was hit every time . At the end of my 3rd roll he said thank you to me since it worked perfect for him . I left after that . I rolled every number then a 7 . I at the time was betting place bets on the 6/8 only or 2 other bets so had 2 wins on each roll but a pass line loss .
I am trying to change to come bets only but it is a hard road . I do like the on and off part about come bets tho . 😀
Good Rolling.

Yes Finisher, the class has changed and really emphasizes the betting part of this whole thing. I have always believed that without proper betting – it doesn’t matter how good of a SRR you have – you will still lose. That doesn’t mean that we don’t spend a lot of time throwing and adjusting – just that we also spend time on the betting.

How long has it been since you took a class?

Now to your question – I don’t increase my passline bet to cover the 7 on the comeout roll when I have comebets out there. I don’t get upset when that 7 shows and the odds come back to me. Like I said I consider it a Christmas gift. I know that it is hard to do think that way, but you must. One thing I do think when this happens and more sso when I set hardways and throw maybe 3 7’s in a row. I say to myself that a big roll is coming now because of my SRR and I just threw 3 7’s.

So if it bothers you increase your passline bet but take the same amount of odds you would have taken with the lower passline bet.
