typically play on $25 tables with 345x odds and im betting on my rolls right after point – and go up with 3 bets until 2 hits. will do max odds on 5-9 and 2X on 4 and 10 until hit, then i will max it.
if i hit a 4 or 10 point on come out, any cons to placing the 6 and 8 at this point? if/when come moves to the 6 or 8, just use the place and win to fund my odds on that number.
if come never moves to 6 or 8, just pull it down the place(s) and continue until 2 hits.
have an SRR of 6.32 at 5K rolls on practice rig and using a rolling 5K (when i rolled 5001th roll, 0001 roll dropped out of calc) to continue to track SRR.
just looking for some input.

With an SRR of 6.23 you have an edge over the game, albeit a small edge. So you should play the lowest house advantage bets offered. Those would be the Pass and Come bets with as much in odds as your bankroll will allow.
When you are shooting on a 3/4/5 game we advise betting PL with full odds and 2 Come bets with full odds. By betting this way you have reduced the house edge for Pass and Come bets to about 0.4%. And with a 6.23 SRR your edge on a Pass or Come with 3/4/5 odds is about 1.3%.
With a 6.23 SRR your edge over the house is 1.7%. So, when you place the 6 or 8 that have a house edge of 1.5% your edge over that bet is only 0.2%. Whereas, your edge over the PL and Come is 1.3% as I mentioned.
Why would you make a bet that gives you a 0.2 % edge when you can make a bet that gives you a 1.3% edge?

since there is an edge, even though small, the thinking was to allow the placed winnings to help fund my come bet if it moves to the 6 or 8.
place would not go out with a come out 5,6,8 or 9 – but im guessing not a fan still for reasons stated already.

One more thing – don’t reduce the amount of odds just because it is a 4 or 10. Play the same amount of odds. I know you all are probably thinking that there are less ways to make these numbers. That doesn’t matter. With your SRR you are controlling the dice and playing with an edge. If you throw them the same way you will repeat the 4 or 10. I bet you have repeated them and it cost you money

thx for input. very much appreciate it.
what got me to thinking about this was the fact that i dont find that i am repeating them much. im usually hitting inside numbers or that damn 3 4.
worst situation for me has been with the come out 4, followed by a come to 10, followed by a come to inside. just feeling like i only have that one inside number working for me and waiting for it to hit twice so i can get up on another number.

When that happens to me I will usually go with another come bet. If it goes to a different inside number I am happy to stay with 4 bets at that point.
On occasion I get burned, but more often than not I will either hit one of my numbers immediately or go up with a 4th number and hit one of them before ending my turn. It pays off more often than not so I am willing to take the risk.

If on the 6 or 8 you have $10 on the pass line with $50 in odds the vig is 1.4% or $.14—1.4% on the $10 only. BUT if you have $60 on the 6 or 8 the vig is 1.5% so a little higher—WRONG. The cost is much higher in dollars as the 1.5% is on the whole $60 or $90 cents. A whole lot higher. Imagine if you place $60 on the 5 or 9 the house vig of 4% way too high. In dollars it is $.90—6.43 times higher. The same type of thing is true if place or buy the 4 or 10. Placing th 4 or 10 has a 6.67 % house vig. The exact percent on buying the 4 or 40 depends on when the vig is paid–paid up front or on wins only. The house vig is on the entire $60. Making the house advantage much higher in dollars.
So give passline / come betting a chance and you will see the very large difference.

no worries. never placed those anyways.
wont even buy the 4 and 10 at my place because vig paid on wins and losses.
thx for clarification.
