Do you know Dominic?

Spread the love

If you are ever asked the question "Do you know Dominic?" while in a casino, the answer is an emphatic "NO"!

For years, in all of our seminars, Dom has stated that you should never approach him or speak to him while inside a casino. Well, the reason for that has never been more apparent that it was this past Saturday night. As many of you know, we held a Golden Touch seminar in Shreveport, LA this past weekend. As a side note, the attendees were absolutely awesome.

Anyway, back to why you should never admit to knowing Dominic. Dom, Billy and I were the instructors for this past weekend’s seminar. We arrived in town on Wednesday afternoon. We did not play craps that day. There was only one game open and it was crowded. We did play Thursday morning and had a very profitable session in which Dom highlighted the session with a 43 roll hand. We all had multiple hands in the 20’s. The next morning was even better. Dom uncorked a 45 roll hand and we all had several more in the mid 20’s. However, Friday night was not as kind to us and we gave some back to the casino.

Saturday was the full day 1 of the seminar. We could not find an open game Saturday morning. So we did not play Saturday morning. Saturday night after dinner, we went to the casino hoping to find a game with playable conditions. The conditions were not good so we kind of split up and waited around to see if a game opened up. Well, there were 3 or our former students playing at one of the craps tables and they all engaged in a conversation with Dom when he walked by. Billy and I went to another part of the pit and were hawking a table that looked like it was a point seven or two from emptying out. After about 15 minutes I saw another former student playing video poker, so I went over and talked to her. We chatted for a while and when we were done, I said that I was going to find Billy and Dom. When I turned around, Dom was surrounded by 3 suits. It was obvious that they were in a serious and not friendly discussion. I passed by them and walked over to Billy who was standing about 20 feet away. I asked Billy "What is going on with Dom?” His reply was "I don’t know, but it is not good." We decided that we should split up and wait for things to play out.

I walked by the craps pit and found the 3 former students now standing around a slot machine. Remember these three had been playing a craps session, and while they were playing, they each chatted with Dom when he walked by a little earlier. Soon, Dom comes walking by, so I catch up with him and ask what was going on. He said one of the suits told him "We know who you are and what you do for a living. We’ve had you under surveillance and know who you are with. You need to leave now, and take your 8 friends with you. Or else, we will escort all of them out." Dom makes his living by designing computer software. I am not sure what his computer software has to do with gaming, but hey, it is their casino and as of this moment they have the right to toss you for any reason that they can come up with. At that time, we decided that Billy, Dom and I need to leave the casino ASAP. So, as Dom began walking out of the casino I slinked off in another direction looking for Billy while all their attention was on Dom. Hey, this was like a James Bond movie! I found Billy and clandestinely passed the message that he needs to leave ASAP and meet in the hotel room. After that, I left the casino and met Dom in his hotel room to await Billy’s arrival. Billy arrived in about 5 minutes. He said that the suit who told Dom to leave approached him and said, “Do you know Dominic, are you a friend of Dominic?” Billy’s response was “I am from Philadelphia. I know a lot of Dominic’s.” The suit laughed and walked off. The same suit went to the 3 former students whom Dom had been talking to and asked each of them the same question. They all disavowed any knowledge of Dominic, kind of like the old Mission Impossible series. One of our students from this current class had been playing at that game and Dom just stood behind him to watch the game. Dom did not speak to him at all. Dom was just observing the game and the tosses of our former students. The suit even asked our current student the question about knowing Dominic. Of course, everyone did the right thing by denying everything. However, the 3 former students who had been speaking with Dom were told they had to leave the casino for the rest of the night. They were not banned beyond the remainder of the night, but had to leave immediately. Billy and I had escaped the inquisition for the moment.

The moral of the story is this. Inside a casino you do not know Dom, Billy, or any other Golden Touch instructors. We are the targets of the casino, not you. However, you can be collateral damage. So, in the future if we do not acknowledge you, you know why.

The answer to the burning question is this, “I do not know Dominic, Dom, Dominator, or any actor who portrays Dominic!

"I’m from Philadelphia, I know a lot of Dominics." Thanks, now I have to clean coffee off my screen. 😆

That was such a funny response that the suit also laughed!

Wow,

Man, just hard to believe that that casino would give you heat Dom. I have not been there in quite a while, but back in the day they really were a good crew and suites. They would have people go to their private rooms and just dump thousands and thousands! Probably even millions on some occasions. They refer to those rooms as the boom boom room (from the movie Life, with eddie murphy) and the Champaign room. Of course I am assuming you all were at that casino. They have awesome odds and used to have a great crew.

However I can remember playing with Doc and Rose a couple of years ago and getting heat over, (of all things) the 5 count. LOL. Was told it was not fair that other rollers would bet on us, but we would not bet on them. LOL! Fair? Fair? WTF!

So Dom, just curious, when you get approached by suites who say that to you, what do you usually say? Were they just backing you off for the night or did they ban you? Such crap really, I can’t stand that you can play a game fairly and they have the right to kick you out. Such BS!

Posted by: Dominator on June 15, 2018, 12:03 pm

They banned me completely not just that night and then two days later, at another casino they banned Billy and myself completely.

What happened on the night of the first casino:

I wasn’t even playing. I was walking around and then stopped in front of a TV to watch the hockey game. I was tapped on the shoulder and saw a suit with two security guys next to him. I knew what was going to happen as this has happened to me before.

Suit: "Dom"
Dom: "Yes"
Suit: "I am sure you know what this is about"
Dom: "What?"
Suit: "Well this has happened to you before"
Dom: "What has happened to me before?"
Suit: "Well you do this for a living"
Dom: "I do what for a living? I am a software developer"
Suit: "We have been surveilling you for two days and we know that also you are here with about 8 friends. We have determined that your game is too good for us and we want you off our property and do not return. You can tell your friends the same thing or we will escort them out ourselves.
Dom: "OK"

So as Daryl said, please don’t get upset if I don’t say hello to you or anyone else. Please don’t approach me in a casino. I say this with Peace and Love – you don’t want to be associated with me

Was this a trespass–that is you cannot walk on to the property?

Posted by: Dominator on June 16, 2018, 11:55 am

No, the first casino did not trespass me, (which has happened before many times to me). What usually happens is that first you get banned and the second time you are on the property and they see you you get trespassed. At the second casino I actually said to the suit – "why don’t you just trespass me?" His response was "We will next time"

This is kind of scary. I assume they have you in the G-Database. Prob using Face Recon software or tracking your training schedule. Is it true those G-Men (outsourced dt agency) follow you around?

Well at the first casino they said I had been surveilled for two days

Fortunately, and Hallelujah, as Dom mentioned to us during the seminar, Louisiana just passed a law requiring their casinos to allow skilled play – in any game, craps or BlackJack or anything else. It takes effect August 1, 2018. (Check my post under Casino News for specifics.)

The night before, I was blocking for the team from Stick Right (SR), since the good shooters were Stick Left (SL) this time. The table had a rash of short rolls, so GTC was standing out by using the 5-count. I saw the box lady complain to SL, saying, “You can’t just stand there and bet only on each other!” No Field Five gave a response I couldn’t quite hear. I think he said something about”qualifying shooters”, or that they would be betting if anyone had more than a few rolls. Whatever NFF said, the box lady seemed to quiet down. Even so, I put down a minimum Come Bet, so the box lady wouldn’t associate me with those cheap skates (ha). If it had been more than a $5 table, I wouldn’t have, because the table action, or lack thereof, was brutal. For that night, that was it.

Generally, I don’t shoot during a seminar, since I’m in the middle of reconstructing my grip and swing, and more. But, the next night, I decided to just spend 30 minutes at a table, after I rested. It was later in the evening, so no other seminar attendees were at the table.

However, the crew at my table were all abuzz about the “dice crew” that had come by. And, it appeared management was on the lookout. My dealer said, “There’s one of them now”, pointing behind me. I looked around and I saw TommyC (might not be his correct handle – we have so many variants of Tom and Tommy in the group) – our Ambassador. Poor guy was just standing against the wall with his family while playing video poker. Then I heard my dealer say, “There’s another one. He’s making a run for it!” I think that was BTK, and I think he got away. You might not think it by looking at BTK, but that guy can book! He’s fast!

To get the dealers attention back on my table, I asked, “Exactly what is a dice crew!” My dealer said, “They switch positions at the table to confuse the dealers.” The box man said, “They all shoot together, throw and bet the same.” At this point, I started to get offended, because it looked like I was not included in the suspect group, even though I grip and throw the same. I decided to let it pass.

BTW, our Ambassador was the first I witnessed roll 50+, the winnings from which paid for both my GTC Throwing and Receiving Stations at my Primer class.

After this last Refresher, it looks like I have a lock on my grip and throw. So, the casino might start taking an interest in me. If so, I’d be honored. Looking at the casino financials for May 2018, I see that their revenue is down 5% from the prior year. That might be the cause of their paranoia. But, after August 1st, it shouldn’t be a concern.

As a fellow computer software developer, I’m sure Dom knows as I do that knowledge and performance are king. Most software developers jealously guard what they know, and don’t share. I have a reputation in the IT field of sharing, out of gratitude for what I have gleaned from others. My most enjoyable sharing was at an IT conference where Bill Gates and I were the speakers (I won’t bore you with the details). Of course, I took the opportunity to ask Bill about the Porsche that I knew he kept garaged in California and would take out for a spin only late at night – the car has no license, since it’s 1 of only 2 (no crash testing).

In any case, the Golden Touch instructors are the most sharing and helpful of any I have met. They would have good reason to guard what they know, and keep it to themselves. But they don’t. And I for one am very grateful for what they have taught and shared with me and all of the students.

Preacher,

I saw the box lady complain to SL, saying, “You can’t just stand there and bet only on each other!” No Field Five gave a response I couldn’t quite hear. I think he said something about”qualifying shooters”, or that they would be betting if anyone had more than a few rolls.

At that time, no one had gotten past more than 4 or 5 rolls. That included us too. I told the lady that I had been betting on others, but that I like to see a few rolls go by before I put my money at risk. I reminded her that the table had gone into a cold spell and none of the last 8 shooters had more than 3 or 4 rolls before the seven out. She acknowledged that fact but did say that they have players who come in and only bet on themselves, and she said they did not like that because they take up a spot without betting.

The dice had come to the shooter at SR1 when she said that to me. I was at SL 1 and did not want the dice to be passed around me, so I waited for the shooter’s come out roll and then placed a Come bet on the second roll. He sevened out! Beautiful, I only had $5 at risk and won it. Now I was getting the dice and they could not complain because I had made a bet.

For the remainder of my play I would make a come bet after the point was established, and take double odds for all random shooters. No one said another word about it.

I would have liked to use the 5 count on everyone, but I had to adapt to the situation. I was very polite in my discussion with her and basically acquiesced to her advice. She never said another word about the issue.

NFF,

Great response. We would do the same–make a small bet on the random rolls to (as you said) adapt to the situation. However since Rose and Doc are usually at the table together and since it was a $5 table, Doc would place the 6 for $6 while Rose would place the 8 for $6 for a "family" total at risk of $12. We know the house vig is a little higher on the $12 total, but with two come bets of $5 with double odds we have $30 on the table. Although we have a nice bankroll and certainly afford 2 come bets with double odds on random rollers it is a bankroll decision. If the dice go off the table or there is another distraction we can call 100% of our bet off or take it down.

On ourselves or anything other GTC shooter we are 100% come betters.

Thanks for the great lesson for everyone who is on the board.

Rose and Doc

Preacher,

I want to thank you so much for your kind words.

You did mention one thing that those dealers said to you and that just recently was told to me because a bunch of our students were harassed at a casino in Las Vegas. I was asked about it because they were worried that All GTC students would get harassed at that casino. Well it turns out after some investigation that these students do the "Fire Drill" switching positions when it is there time to throw. You mentioned this Preacher.

So here is what I will say – Are you students idiots? Do you read the GTC 20 Commandments? Do you ever see a regular crap player who is playing with his friends switch sides at a table? The answer is NO! Commandment #4 says to act as a regular player and Commandment #13 says Do Not do the Fire Drill.

Those students are hurting it for everyone. I know most of these students are not even reading this forum so they won’t feel the anger I have, so those that do read this, please pass it along to them to not do this.

In case those that are reading this forgot what the 20 commandments are here you go:

And here are the 20 Commandments for all GTC students: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9942

I think there is a rule that IF you do not bet on the player before you they can say that it is a NO roll for your turn . Most casinos don’t use this rule but it may come your way so don’t get upset . I can see if there is a lot of players wanting to get in but if it is not there is no reason you have to bet YOUR Money on every roller . But that is just my thought .
Good Rolling. 😀 🙂

Finisher that is not a gaming Commission rule, but might be a particular casino rule. If it is bet a passline bet and take single odds

I was actually accused of the fire drill by a table boss on one of my last trips. All I was attempting to do was to give the shooter room by not being so close as to "blow in his ear" when he was shooting. I took a half step back from the rail, but I never surrendered my table position. I guess the table boss thought we were up to the shenanigans.

I did find out later through a conversation with another player that his boss was in a mood and giving him an earful. It rolls downhill I guess.

Posted by: Dominator on June 25, 2018, 1:55 pm

Well I thank you Wire for proving the point and providing evidence how this could be a problem. They don’t like this!

I have seen were a player wanted to make a 1.00 bet and was told that they had to have a min. bet some were on table to do that .
It seems that at times they hate it when a player just walks up and makes a hard way bet with no other bet , or a prop. bet .
Good Rolling. 😀 🙂

A couple of things.
In the past I have been accused of being a jerk for not being cordial to people in certain casinos. By being friendly to you in a casino I would be putting you in jeopardy of being data based by that casino and their national data base provider. I am in many of them and there is a section in those data bases for "associates". If you are put in as an associate you could lose the ability to play there or lose the ability to earn reward points. I’ve seen many of my profiles and luckily no one on this board is associated with me however I haven’t seen "Mr Blue Aura’s" profile so I can’t say the same thing about his profile. So be advised, if I don’t acknowledge you in a casino it doesn’t necessarily mean that I don’t like you. 😛 It may mean that at one time or another I have experienced counter measures there and it is dangerous to know me. As a side note to this conversation please don’t call me (or others) by name. This is dangerous to those who may be playing anonymously and don’t want to be identified. Use Hot Shooter, Coors Light, Blue Aura or some other greeting, I know that I appreciate it.
About the episode in the south, I have it on good authority that we were not part of any reports in any national data base (yes Dom I talked to him today) but there may be a local network that had an alert about "Mr Blue Aura" and his friends that we have no way to access. Just be careful there for a while and always obey the 20 commandments of GTC to keep you safe.
Playing on other shooters is sometimes a big deal at certain casinos. This rule was usually used at casinos where some players go between tables to shoot more often so to counteract that they make you bet on a previous shooter to curtail some of these types of players. There are was to get around this somewhat. The method that I use is to always make a come bet on the second roll of the shooter before me. The reason that I do this is that 1 out of every six times you do the hand ends on that second roll which is always the desired outcome. The other way that I counter this type of countermeasure is by always placing a toke bet for the dealers when the dice are coming to me. Can you imagine what the dealers would say if the shooter that had a bet up for the dealers wasn’t allowed to shoot?
What I am trying to convey is that if your goal is to be a thorn in the casinos bottom line you must think about everything that you do and do things for specific reasons. No one that works there wants you to win no matter what they say.
Good Luck.
BTK
