Craps

Vegas April 2018

Spread the love

I spent 2-1/2 days in Vegas. I don’t get there often as the trip takes me about 5-1/2 hours to drive. I get comped for rooms but not for the travel.

Got there Sunday, with very liile traffic from Los Angeles. Rolled 40 different times, with 13 different buy-ins of middle triple digits amounts. To get to the end results quickly I lost about the equivalent of three buy-ins. The last time I had gambled I also was a loser.

My average roll was almost 7.5. My longest was only a 20. I only had 2 point seven out though.

I had a contact from Matt who lives in Vegas, but with his evening work schedule aI having only two full days we weren’t able to hook up.

I has surprised how busy it was on Sunday when we got there. We stayed off strip and the Boyd property I stayed at usually had at least two tables open but they were often no way for me to get my spot at a SR-1.

I didn’t bet any of the bonus bets, but did see someone hit the replay bet and some winners on the repeater bet. Different tables had one or the other of these bets where I was staying.

Stopped at one of the casinos coming in from Los Angeles. And it looked like I couldn’t get a decent spot at the one craps table open. Went to see how Sally was doing at VP and came back and SR1 had opened up.

Started out with a point of 5, followed by an 8 and then Seven our. I had regressed after the 8 and actually was a small winner. Next roll was nine rolls but I started with low bets and was single digit win. Followed that with a point seven out which was my largest loss there.

The table had partially filled back up and the other shooter make one point and/or threw repeats of the same number and I lost on everyone of them.

I had my only double digit roll and won a single digit amount. My last roll was 5 throws and I lost a mid double digit amount. I lost more on checkers than I did on myself and was down half of my buy-in.

Went on to the off-strip hotel we were staying at. After checking in, went down to the tables and found my spot. Bought in and rolled two times before the table got to full for me to continue playing. Had a roll of 17 that started off with two crap 3 before establishing a point of 9. Never could repeat the night but rolled a combination of 5 6/8s before seven out. Next roll started with an 8 which I repeated two rolls later and then came out with a point of 6. Couldn’t make the 6 but rolled another 8 and sevened out with a roll of 7 that I was a single digit winner on.

The area a SL was occupied by a player who bought in at a reserved spot with a 4 digit buy in and was betting with black/green chips. He busted out before I left and they continued to hold the spot for him. I called it quit and we got something to eat. Came back later but the tables never opened up with a spot I wanted to play at.

On Sunday I threw the dice a total of 56 times. Had 1 winning come 7, and 2 come out losing craps. I had set 10 points and made 3 of them. I continued to lose on my bets on chicken feeders.

More to follow in a later post on Monday and Tuesday results.

Second day results.

Monday walked down to the tables and the one open table was fairly full so I joined Sally at some VP and broke even. The table had opened up I bought in. First roll was a 5-2 seven so I felt good. Followed with a 5-3 eight so both roll had stayed on axis, but then threw a 3 and another 5-2 seven. So I was down already for the day.

Started with a 1-2, then a 4-3 and a point of 9. Repeated the 9 and then a 7, 11, followed by a 6 which came right back. Next point was a 10 and then 4, 7. That roll was 14 throws and I was back on the plus side for the day

Had company on the table now and lost on the two chicken feeders. But now was still barely on the plus side.

My next point was a 10 with full three times odd that a never I never made but did collect on the roll of 8 throws. Dice were passed right back to me and I came back out on the 10 again after a CO 7. Made it this time after rolls of 5,5,8, and 5. Next point was the 8 and I threw 5, 9, 6 and 7 to end that roll.

Lost just a little on the CFers and then threw two CO 7, a point of 9 and then seven out. Down a low double digit and called it quits.

After getting breakfast, drove down to the strip. I had some good rolls at the casino last time I was in Vegas, but they were using the other table today but it was a $5 table.

Lost on CFers before I got the dice and I had a point of 9 and a SO. Lost more on CFers before starting what turned into 9 throws trying to make a 4 and decided to move on with a total three figure loss.

Wandered on the strip but only found $10/$15 tables and was in a place I had never played at that only had one $10 table they were just opening. I offered to play at $5 and the pit said yes for ½ hour. So I bought in. My first roll was 9 throws with a point of 5 and I lost $1 a throw. I had loss a mid double digit amount on CFers before getting the dice back. Threw a craps, point of 5 and 4 more throw before the SO and called it quits.

Meandered back to where I had parked my car, and checked the tables again and never found a playable position. So drove back off strip to where we were staying. Two tables open but crowded and so I joined Sally at VP. Put $20 in an 8-6 VP spin to win game. Only played 1 row , occasional going to three rows and turned doubled my money in. Didn’t hit anything big, maybe one full house but never had more than one play without hitting something.

Went back to the table and SR 1 had opened up. S the table was almost emoty. I couldn’t put anything together, had rolls of 8, 5, 3, 4, 4 and 5 and was down almost 2/3rd of my buy-in. Another table was open and SR-1 was available and I changed tables.

A shooter to my left was weird with the dice. He didn’t set them, but he grabbed them from the stick, tapped them on the table two/three times, swirled his hand around between his taps and all this took 20/25 seconds before he threw them hard down the table. I don’t remember anyone ever taking that long to throw. However he was getting good results. When the dice got to me I was up only down a little.

I had my best roll of the trip, throwing 20 times before a 5-2 seven out. Made a point of 6 twice, and also mde points of 5 and 10. I was up almost 1/3rd of my buy in. Dice went around the table with me winning a single digit amount.

I made a point of 9 and came out on the 10 but followed with a 5-2 SO, for a single digit loss. And am still up almost 1/3rd of my buy in and call in time for supper.

All the open table were full and I din’t play any more that night. Did win $10 on VP before going up to the room.

Results of the last will follow.

Here’s what happened on the third day in Vegas

Three the dice with 41 come out throws. Setting for the seven and only had 5 CO 7 winners. Had 3 CO 11s . Set 5/9 each as a point 5 times. Didn’t have a point of 4 at all but had a point of 10 twice. That left me with 6 as a point 7 times and 8 as a point 11 times.

Made my point 14 times. Spread the rolls out over 7 different tables. Had two point 7 out and the longest roll was 11. Also had 4 rolls of 10.

Only made money on 4 of the rolls. Lost triple digit on one of my rolls but won triple digit on two of them. On two of the rolls of 10, I made three point on each and also had two come out winners on each so 5 of the 10 rolls I collected money on.

I drove down to the strip but only played at one table which was the only spot where I found a $5 table. I played come bets at that table, and it was a disaster. Had my largest loss for the trip there.

Had my largest win of the trip where I was staying and it happened the last night and I had 4 of my double digit throws at the casino I was staying at.

Might have played the next morning before we drove back to Los Angeles but the one table open was very full. Uneventful drive back home.

The last day we saw a movie “A Quite Place” which I thought was very good.

This trip was a decent trip even though it resulted in a loss. Don’t know when we will be going back, but am sure we will make it sometime this summer.

Finisher,

I was staying off the stop but Sunday the casino had a pool party and there were a lot of people.

The two days I went down to the strip I had free parking at both places I parked. The parking did’t seem too full but as I said all the tables, even at $10/$15 were busy. Walking down the strip wasn’t particularly crowded though.
