Over the last couple of months, my craps buddies and I have noticed that a casino we frequent alternates the dice from red to blue every day. This past weekend I asked one of the dealers when they change the dice and they said that they don’t even know and the pit boss seemed very tight lipped about it. I got the impression there is a difference. The Blue dice seem heavier and don’t bounce around as much. A few of my friends have noticed the same phenomenon. Has anyone else that has played in AC noticed this or are we imagining things?

OK, I Don’t play in AC but every casino will use different dice at different times as a form of table security. I doubt they want anyone to know the schedule as then it would not be as effective for security. You and your friends may indeed favor one type of dice over the other but both types will surely be fair casino dice. Just my 2 cents worth. 🙂

In Vegas one of the venues regularly has different dice on different tables at the same time. My home turf always uses polished red.

this is some funny shit that you guys always want to worry about the different colored dice lmao

Here is why I find this funny by worrying about the color of the dice you’ll eventually develop this thing in your head that I do not like that color of dice what this will do to you is when you play with that color of dice due to your lack of discipline you will get mad you will get frustrated and you will blame the dice ,you will not be able to concentrate all because of the color of the dice do not let the game get into your head I repeat do not let the game get into your head do not worry about the late bet do not worry about the color of dice do not worry about the person putting their hands in the game do not worry about anything other than how you’re going to grip the dice how your arm is going to perform and how you’re going to feel the dice gently release from your hands to make that perfect shot, because you are the one making the shot It is your game to control you are there to control the game and control the dice so do it on your game take care of business and make the box

The dice color does, actually, make a very subtle difference. The darker the color and the less transparent, the heavier which is better for us. I also agree wholeheartedly with B-Man. There are very few dice controllers that can take advantage of the very slight difference between dice colors and transparency. For most of us, it simply doesn’t matter. So don’t let it crowd your brain. That said, if you have the choice to play at one table with amber transparent dice or the table next to it using opaque red our blue dice, choose the latter. Otherwise don’t give it any of your precious attention when playing.

It’s not the color that is the issue, that is just a way to distinguish what I think are different properties of the Dice. I’m probably the least superstitious of most gamblers. I couldn’t care less about the stickman changing or the dice getting shot off the table, etc. The color means nothing to me.

In the Advanced Class, a lot of time is spent on different color, density and weight of dice. You will learn what to do with the different dice. This was a major eye opening class for me.
