It was a great weekend in Atlantic City. Dom and the crew were superb. Really just a great time overall.

I did have one experience that I just recalled from last night. First, let me give some background. Since playing the way GTC lays out, I have made some decent bank, but, admittedly, when it is my time to throw, I will usually toss some $$ on the ATS. I know it’s a long shot, but I am taking a chance on myself. That being said, I have hit the Small, I have hit the Tall, but I have never hit the All despite coming very close numerous times.

Rewind to last night (Sunday). I am down some money for the weekend, as a whole, but not by much more than a single buy-in. I am attempting to play catch up and willing to settle for a break-even for the trip. To that end, I opted not to play the ATS based on my own history.

So I am at a table around 10 PM, or so, and the dealer shift change. Most of the people at my table had moved on, it was down to two Don’t players and me. I threw for what felt like over an hour before anyone else walked up to the table and took the dice.

Anyways, I had as many as two dealers breaking my stones about why I wasn’t playing the ATS. I told them of my history of success when it comes to the ATS. The first dealer kept goading me about putting money on it. I didn’t put much into it, I have a thick skin.

Next break, another dealer becomes the stick, and starts prodding me about the ATS. He tells me with the way I was shooting, I should have some money up there. About midway through the roll, the dealer points out that look at how many numbers I have already. My response was something like, "oh yeah, look at that". A few rolls later, I seven-out. As the table is being cleared, I take a poke at the stick as my response was, "now I look like a genius by not playing the ATS. I saved $15".

Moral of the story, especially to any new players. Dom preaches over and over, the dealers have a job to do. I have seen dealers in private forums admit that they have a script to read. Still, it’s your money. Don’t let anyone else play it for you.

In the old days the stick was like a carney man that drew the people in to play this game . I miss some of their talk .It was interesting to hear all the different terms that they used .I think there was a post about this years ago .

We had one of those old time "carney man" as a suit at one of our sessions. Never saw him before but he was funny.
