DON’T TALK TO DOM AT THE TABLE !!!!!

Spread the love

1) You put him in a bad mood 😳 and you should know better, he mentions it in class and it puts him in a grouchy
Mood in the morning

2) You kill the learning experience for others. I finished the advance and now observing the pros playing at a table at their
Best. When you break their focus it’s hard to learn when they get up and leave.

3) saying “Hey, your Mr PIP, Dom was just here I was talking to him” in front of the crew
makes me feel exposed.

Behave guys.

I wonder why this is, my personal opinion is because they’re there to make money and they’re not there to make friends when They want to make friends they’re sharing joking teaching when you’re out in public they’re playing oh wait they don’t play they’re there to win everybody should take note from that. One more thing I noticed Dom had a huge role this week I’ll bet that there was only two or three people at the table white toss that 80 hand and when he had his 50 hands there were a few more people at the table but they were all advanced GTC students who knew how to play new one to bet kept the game going didn’t get in the way. There is a huge difference in my personal opinion when you play at a table with advanced GTC students that know how to set the dice quickly back quickly bet on-time know when they’re going to get paid so they’re making their bets as they’re getting paid so they don’t break the rhythm of the game you can play in a bigger group but when you play in a bigger group of just random rollers that have no clue as to what they’re doing my personal opinion it’s a recipe for failure.Once again my hats off to the great dominator for the huge rolls appreciate you guys stopping by and saying hi was really nice to see you look forward to seeing you in Vegas have fun

I remember after I took the class I saw nickanight at a table and said nothing to him . He was not rolling at the time and that still was not a good time to say hello . I went to bath room and when I came back he had moved to a 21 table and I still did not approach him . Like Bman said there is a right time for every thing .
Even when a CFer is rolling i Do Not talk to a person rolling .
Craps is a social game at times . Some rollers like it with lots of talk and loud yelling .Other not so . The table can change a lot just with who is rolling or the others around .
I think that all the instructors should be able to handle what ever happens . Not every person at the table is going to know the RIGHT way to play period .
Good Rolling. 😀 🙂

Not sure what the issue is Mr. Pip. Are you concerned about being outed as a dice setter or losing concentration?
I’m friends with many table dealers and supervisors in Atlantic City. I’ll let you in on a secret. Many but not all know who Dom is and they know the GTC dice setting technique and toss. In AC, they don’t give a shit. Their only concern is that you don’t take more than a few seconds to set the dice and that you hit the back wall and that you don’t try to cheat. That’s it. People talking to you during the game is a normal part of the game, you need to deal with it just like chips being in the way when you throw the dice.

It’s not about exposing who they are letting the casino know who they are it’s about common courtesy and letting them have their time to play without being pestered it’s just common decency to anybody to let them have their time to play without pestering them there are enough distractions in the casino as it is without going up and adding to it

I agree. Pestering is an obvious annoyance. Saying Hi and a few words that a common friend was there is not. But I get the gist of what Mr. Pip is saying. I know Dom doesn’t want to be pestered, but I would be pestered if someone I knew didn’t acknowledge my presence. Here is how I handled a situation a few months back. A guy next to me that I’ve never met was a little “overly friendly” and was talking about a movie he had seen that I didn’t care about. The action on the table was heating up and I was making come bets with odds. I looked him straight in the eye and said this. “Sir, I like you, you seem like a great friendly guy and I’m not saying this to be rude, but when I’m playing craps, I need complete silence from those around me so that I can concentrate on the game and not screw up my bets. We can talk later.” He looked at me. He said “understood” and never said another word.

OK as long as my name is being mentioned let me tell you all again what I have said many times and my feelings about all this. Some of what I may say here may sound a little conceited and may also make some angry at me. But until you walk in my shoes and take over my body most of you will not understand. Some will like BMan who has been around a long time and is a friend of mine, others may not.

I don’t care that someone may know the AC crew and that the crew knows who I am and have said they don’t care …. the crew and the casinos are not my friends. On this trip the crew was fantastic and we didn’t get any heat, BUT I have seen that movie before where a casino has welcomed me with open arms and the next time banned me. This was the case with Bellagio. They loved me till they didn’t, and then banned me from every game. This was the case with Caesars two years ago when they walked me and Billy out of the casinos, because they can’t actually can’t ban you in NJ. And this time no heat. So that is my first point. Until you are taunted, harassed, and then get tapped on the shoulder and told you are unwelcome and then trespassed, please understand my feelings.

#2. You don’t know if I am playing under the name of Dom or under another name. I don’t feel like I want to be Bubba’s friend in jail over the weekend.

#3. As BMan said, I love to teach – we all love to teach, but we also like to be with each other. My partners and I have been friends for over 20 years and we live all over the country. We have lost 3 of the partners over the years – very close friends that we will meet again sometime in the future. But for now we enjoy being together and talking and playing and talking about the old days. We look forward to these seminars just to be together again. Who knows how many more times we have. I don’t want to sound morbid but you all need to understand this.

#4. I DON’T LIKE TO CHAT AT THE TABLES. When I am at the tables, I am all business and I begin to focus a few players before I get the dice. I am saying this so you all will not think I am rude. That is just how I want to play. If I want to chat you will know it. Please everyone take this with peace and love.

#5. I had two stalkers on this trip, one that traveled just to be at the tables with me. I am sure no one else on this site has ever had a stalker get on a plane just to go to the venue you were at to play with you. Not only that I had 5 other people just tap me on the shoulder to say hi and tell me I was their inspiration. This evened happened to me while I was in the Bahamas on vacation this year.

I feel honored by this and it makes me feel great to know that what I have done and what I teach is helping many people to be better players, but doing this while I am standing at the table can create problems for me. Now they are not students so maybe they are just unaware of the problems it can cause me so I excuse them, but not students.

#6. YOU DON’T WANT TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH ME. Just ask Billy the kid. When I got banned from Bellagio they went and found Billy who wasn’t even playing with me and said and I quote, "You are a friend of LoRiggio and we just kicked his ass out of here and so we are banning you as well!" So having the casinos know you are a friend of mine can create problems for you.

#7. Pressure. We all 7 out, but for me when there are people I know at the tables, well if I have a monster that is what I am supposed to have, if I have 3 point 7 outs, I am not as good as they say. This happens all the time and gets written up about on websites. It is a no win situation for me.

Look it everyone, I say in class I will never walk away from a table that have students there, but I will walk away if any of the above happens including not following any of the 20 commandments. Maybe some of you will understand all this now and maybe some of you will be saying as you read this that Dom is an ahole. Whatever. It is in writing now. Please if you respect me, respect my feelings. I don’t like to chat at the tables.

With peace and love
Dom

I completely understand your stance, Dom. A simple solution if anyone speaks to you at the table regardless of whether it’s a student that forgot your rules or an overzealous fan. Simply say in a nice manor "I prefer not to talk while I’m at the table" Short, sweet and gets the job done. A student will instantly remember and stop and a stranger will get it too. No need to have to leave a table that you are comfortable at. Works for students playing at the tables that rather not talk as well.
