Right after Doc took the course many years ago, I walked up to a table and stood there. A GTC person was rolling and another GTC man that I knew said (making a scene as he did this) and I quote "this guy is hot get in and get in now". Like an idiot I threw some money on the table, the game came to a stop, the dealing counted out my chips and pushed them to me. I immediately placed the 6 and 8 and BOOM the very next roll was a 7. Never again. Don’t think this was discussed in class 12 years ago. I made a pack with myself that I would never do to this again and I haven’t. Talk about feeling like a fool. There was not a hole deep enough for me to hide in. Lesson learned here.
Now what do you do when a GTC friend walks up to a table—give him some chips ($100 or so) and you can settle up when you have a break in the game.
Dom and the staff have done so much teaching on etiquette at the craps table is recent years and he has paid off. The class instruction has changed –for the better–if you haven’t taken a class in several years you should do so as it will pay you many dividends over the years of play.
As Nightrider said "PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS." It will pay off in dividends many times over during your journey to becoming the advantage player you will be. Rose and I will play with Nightrider any time.

I would have made Come bets and maybe placed the point.
The one thing that I can guarantee is this. If you had bought in, in the middle of the roll, and placed a line bet in the landing area, Dom would have left the game. If I had been there, I would have joined him.
Great job Nightrider!

Just to add another thought. I extend the same courtesy to chicken feeders when I walk up to a table. I won’t buy in when the puck is on or place chips on pass line if the shooter is tossing toward me. It may not matter since they don’t understand the concept of "same landing zone" but it does matter to me that I always practice good etiquette at the tables.

I even say OFF at times when this happens .
Most of the dealers say nothing any more about that since they know that I will bye in when the time is right .
Good Rolling. ๐ ๐

I have no idea if this is roll one or 100 when I walk up or who is rolling . I wish I had all that money that I lost when some one did slow down the game with a bye in .

Absolutely agree with this. Itโs VERY tempting when your spot is open and the shooter to your right is throwing and you have to have action to get the dice. This weekend, we walked up to a table in Vegas, stepped close to rail and just stood there, 3 of us did this. He threw 3 more times before the devil. We bought in and I asked if the dice would go back to him. The stick said nope, theyโre yours, Iโm not going to penalize you for good etiquette!โ THERE IS HOPE!
Even when a point is made, if I buy in, itโll only be a quick 100 and tell them the total will be x after the shooter is done.
