Hi all. Hope everyone is well and enjoying their December. So I went to Atlantic City this past week with a couple of friends. All of them know that I am an instructor with GT and all of them have no problem verbalizing their expectations from me when we play together. Lots of pressure. They are pretty big high rollers so we got a reserved table in one of my favorite casinos on the boardwalk. But no one decided to mention to me that it was going to be a $100 minimum table. That is certainly too rich for my blood. Especially when I am throwing the dice and need to back up my line bet. And this is a 10x odds table.
So we all buy in and i’m trying to figure out how my betting is going to go when the dealer asks who wants the dice first. Everyone says Michael is getting the dice first since he is the professional shooter. That I am the best of the best. That I throw with the most prestigious dice shooters in the world. Hello people!!! Why not put a little more pressure on me. So I establish my point of 6. Everyone loads up their bets. None of them are from GTC so they are not all come bettors. What do I do? Yes me, the best shooter in the world?????? I throw a 7. I feel mortified. Horrible that my friends just lost all this money but i feel like the biggest moron in the world. So the next 3 guys shoot and no one does anything great. I am come betting so I haven’t been hurt too badly. Then the dice come back to me. One of them says "All my money on the don’t please". Another one says " lets see if he could beat his record and throw a 2". So i say to myself’ "it’s like I am playing with the guys from GT. I have Dom on my right. Nick on my left. Matt is shooting from the left side". This definitely helps me to relax a little. I establish my point of a 4 this time and come right back with a hard 4. This definitely allows me to slip into my groove. Finished the hand with a 26. Much better.
Dice come back to me 15 minutes later with still no one doing anything more then a 10. and I followed up with a 31. This was a short day for me as I had to get home for dinner so I hit the road by 3:30. When all was said and done, i ended up winning $7,100. Not too bad for 4 hours worth of work. And I made my friends very happy because I was the smallest winner at the table. Looking forward to playing that $100 table again.

I seem to have no problem about talk since Most of the time I play alone and the table becomes SILENT when I get the dice , even after a loud session before my roll I can be in roll 2 or 22 or even 38 and it is quit . a FEW HIGH 5s maybe but other then that no noise .After the 3rd PW I get the high 5s and after the roll ends there is some claps but not like when others roll .Just saying since I have been playing this for well over 40 years now .
I find that it is HARD to break old habits still .
I cant even play on a 25.00 table let alone what you played on . I remember when I started rollin these bones I thought that some one would hurt me if I rolled Bad . I got over that awhile back . 1972 I think it was maybe 73 .
My bye in says that I should play on a 3.00 table but those are hard to come by . So I do play on 5.00 tables most of the time . But lately I have HAD to go to 10.00 ones .
I Still play toooooo long and win little but do LOVE to roll the BONES .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀 😀

"Nightrider" wrote: sorry everyone put pressure on you, they should be able to make there own throws not rely on someone else, and yes it does suck when you got a table full that think you are good or great and then you 7 out or when they do wait to bet, then when they get there money on the table you 7 out makes you feel like crap, but hey that’s why they call it gambling and not winning great comeback buddy.
The only throw you know is your own. Practice! Practice! Practice! Practice! Practice! as pip says
