Rose and Doc practice frequently as shown in the attached pictures. The first shows where the dice were landing and wore a hole in the felt. The second shows the patch that Doc made. The only good news is that they were landing in the same place frequently. I now have a really easy place as my target. 😀 😀

Let’s talk about targeting. Like many I also found myself simply looking at the far end of the table but not really targeting. This "patch" really gave me something to target. I can hit that little spot almost every time now. If you find yourself simply looking to the end of the table, practice taking a couple of seconds to really concentrate on your target spot and then begin your back swing. It will make a world of difference.
Here is a second idea. Use the Spieth method of targeting. For those not in the know, Jordan Spieth is a fairly new young player on the PGA tour who has who won several major tournament in his first few years on tour. The Spieth method of target is simply this—assuming you make your target a circle, small targets mean small misses. If you target is about 4 inches in diameter and you miss by 1 inch you are only 5 inches from the center of your circle. However is your target is 15 inches and you miss by 1 inch, you are 16 inches from the center of your target. If you think you are targeting but you are really only looking to the end of the table throwing the dice you may be in deep ****. Take a few minutes to really concentrate and make it a part of your practice so that targeting is automatic. It may well make a world of difference.
Hope this makes a positive impact on your success at the craps tables.

I used Oak plywood on my table but have not looked under the felt and do not feel any dents yet . But then again it does not get as much play .The extra cost may be worth it since it is a lot of work changing it .If you used 2 sheets of ply would you may be able to just flip them over instead of buying new ones .The plans that I got off this site said to use 2 sheets of ply wood glued . I dont remember if I put the oak side down on the under ply wood . I hope that I did .I know that I put the oak side up on the top piece but then again both sides may have been Oak for all I know at this time .I think they were 50.00 a sheet at that time .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Now if the wood is exposed as in knotty pine I would be using the sawdust out of my chop saw bag mixed with a little glue so I have a color match.
