Below is a chart I made for myself some time ago. Looks like once I hit the preview on my typed post that the chart shows up differently than I originally typed. The columns that correspond with the numbers are Odds, Total Bet Amount, Win/Come Bet w Odds, Win Place Bet. I apologize and hope everyone can figure out the gist of it.
I always play in a 3X, 4X, 5X odds market. I was trying to evaluate these two types of bets since I never seem to do well with Come Bets. I really don’t see any reason for me to use Come Bets in the market I play in. If fact I can think of a few reasons to pick Place Bets over Come Bets although I don’t ever really think Come Bets are a bad bet.
Just putting this out for any one else who might be interested. Any discussion or comments on the good or bad of either bet is appreciated. Hopefully I am not stepping on anyone’s toes since I think GTC teaches Come Betting. Just interested in generating some thoughts on betting practices and the whys of each.
I will let a few people comment and I may add some more of my thoughts later but am on my way out right now.
Thanks everyone for any response and thoughts.

tags around your tables of numbers and you’ll get fixed-width fonts that will line ’em up.

Point 7 out sting just a little bit less with come bets. I lose my line bet/odds but get a consolation prize.
It gets me on the numbers I happen to be rolling that day. I have had many 10+ hands without a 6,8 or a winning pass line bet. That seems to happen more than going up on say 4 and 10, then not hitting either.
The math is still on my side when I start to spread out. With 6/8 start, when I spread to 5/9 or 4/10 (vig paid up front in my area 🙁 ), I am giving up more to the House.
There aren’t many things better than Off and On with Max odds.
Come out 7’s suck, but getting all those odds back feels like a payday.

At 500.00 a unite what is your bye in ?
When I play I say up one unite and the dealers know how much that is .
Do they realise what your unite bet is ?

three times his buyin, meaning he won $1500.
He was confusing "buyin" with "unit" bets.

Hope this helps. In class we are taught PL, Come, Come betting with max odds. I am the type of person that needs to see to believe so as part of my daily practice. I do a PL, Come, Come betting drill. I started out with a make believe bankroll of $3000 balance. I have performed 93 sessions without going bust. The last sessions were very profitable. Here is my betting process.
Here are my Simulation and betting rules I will follow when I go live play.
(I have to say I was surprised at the power of this betting over the long run as I use to do hedging of my pl and come bets and do other bad things…lol)
============================================================================
The make-believe table is a $10 dollar Table with 5X odds
Notes :
a) During simulation I play with clay chips and a small rail so when I am in live play I just get into routine.
b) When I started my SRR was 6.00 and during the last sessions it has improved to around 6.30-6.53
1) I buy in with $600 per hand in a session
2) PL and Come bets with max odds.
3) After the 3rd hit I start covering a place bet on my 6/8 or both with $12
4) After the 5th hit of a max odds bet I go in with a 4th Come bet and reset the counter
5) I play only up to 10 hands per session
6) I stop the session if I am up with a 200 or more profit and the hand count is low. Or if I can not cover 3 bets
Note for: #3 for each hit I press $6 I start back to $12 when its not covered
Total Sessions: 93
Session Wins: 47
Session Losses: 46
Total Hands Played: 612
Total # Bets : 1836
Total Amt Winning Sessions: $18066
Total Amt of Losing Sessions: ($15458)
Profit to date : $2608
Starting Balance: $3000
Current Balance: $5608
