Craps

No one showed up for work

Spread the love

The Chicago Wrecking Crew had a demolition scheduled recently. The building had been identified to demolish and all crew members had signed up for their designated assignments. The whistle blew sharply at the start of the day to signify it was time to get down to business. The building was stronger than anticipated. As each crew member took a turn the wrecking ball appeared to bounce off the structure with limited effect. After two rounds as each member gave way to the next, it was apparent we would have to re-assess our strategy to take down the building. As union rules dictate to take a break every two hours, the crew did not make it to the break period. Everyone was tapped out from the failed exercise.

It was an oversight that I.D.’s were not checked at the door. The team members must have sent body doubles or stunt men to do their assignment. The crew did not seem like the previous sharp precise shooters of prior assignments.

It can be a severe let down when “NOBODY SHOWS UP FOR WORK” !!

Stay tuned for the next report on how the crew picks itself up off the mat.

It does not matter how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up.

The greatest accomplishment is not in never falling, but in rising again after you fall.

Skinny,
The Wrenching Crew are most likely Bear fans. Your advise is so good and true, but these Chicago throwers probably have a hard time relating to the Green Bay Packer Great Vince Lombardi. 😮 😯 😀 😆

You’re never a loser until you quit trying.

Am I reading between the lines correctly. It sounds like the 5 count was not used and everybody lost on 1 round.

Please tell me I am wrong, please tell me I am WRONG!!!!!!!! PLEASE

OK Bob, I’ll tell you that you were wrong. We lost on more than round 1. You were right on the 5 count though 😳

Some lessons are harder learned…. trust me, this will absolutely hone the 5 count usage. I absolutely agree with it, but we’re human and fall off the wagon sometimes.

Please use the 5 count, it saves everyone $$$ and if someone has a long hand you only miss 5 throws.

I am glad I was wrong.

Am a matter of fact everyone’s roll is recorded in my small 3×5 note book. Having looked at it after the event this was truly a "perfect storm". There were only a few occasions the 5 count would have saved some chips. Here’s an account of the rolls, 26 in all.
3-9-7-4-3-11-7-5-8-8-PSO-7-8-10-4-13-15-12-7-7-8-11-7-9-8

There were very few repeaters, numerous craps were thrown after 5 count. Worst storm in throwing career by far.

Must admit that is a lot of turns with dice before giving up .
Mr Finesse did you get my PM that I sent you ?
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂
