Buy in

Spread the love

Well I don’t know if this has ever come up or it has been a long time .
I was talking to a pit boss about buying in . He said that there are FEW people any more that will wait for the puck to be in off position .That they use to always buy in for hundreds now they buy in for twenties or even less .Low and behold at that table 30 min later a guy buys in for 5.00 . 🙂 🙂
He also said there are more players that just walk up and play the field for a win or loss with one parlay and leave .Systems don’t work he said period .
Has any on this site bought in for LESS then 20.00 ?????
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

Never.

I did have a guy buy in on every single roll of mine a month ago…. but it was for $2k per roll, still drove me crazy and really had to work at keeping my wits about me.

I think my lowest buy in ever was $50 and that was back when $50 was worth something! 😉

The people that you mention with low buy in I don’t think even know the game of Craps. They are the kind of players that used to walk around the casino and put coins in a slot machine and pull the handle once and then move to a new machine or a new game. I guess they think if they play enough games they will win on something. Maybe there is some truth to that but they still won’t be overall winners.

That is the reason I aspire to play higher denomination tables if I have an advantage at that table. A lot less low buy ins will be tossed in as the high denom tables are too rich for many casual players.

I believe that there are more buy ins under 100. maybe even as high of a ratio as 2 to one in the under 100 dollar buy in it is becoming the norm

for anyone that buys in for less than 100, I usually bet the donts until the dice go to the next person. Just like Colt 45, it works everytime.

I agree totally with getagrip’s advice on playing on a higher limit table. The last time LittleDebbie and I were at our favorite table ($10) I was on a fairly good roll when up steps a disheveled " Columbo" who proceeds to lay down $1240 in twenties to buy in. All the dealers showed their irritation that the game came to a stop while the box counted out all those $20s. I must have waited 5 plus minutes before getting the dice back for me to continue. Everyone knows where this is going and yes 7 out. I colored up and chalked that up as a lesson learned.

In Las Vegas people buying in every 5-10 minutes is the norm

The only true way to avoid the BS is to play the higher denomination tables (25, 50, 100)

The one who really bug us and the players who buy in for $20, and put $5 on the pass not odds. BUT they put the $5 in the field, $5 each on two of the hard way numbers. Obviously they have no idea of what they are doing and besides they have no money to speak of and have no business in the casino. The 7 comes and they walk away.

Once had a young lady (who obviously did not have much money) say "I have got to win some money, I have to get some money to buy my kids some food".

I’m used to waiting until the puck is off to buy in. But lately it seems that dealers see me waiting to buy in and tell be to just go ahead. They don’t seem to mind slowing things down in the middle of a hand.

I have had the same thing told to me .I then say 30 yrs. ago I was taught to be polite and to respect .I am getting old and things are coming back to me .Lots of laughs and they say that is how it use to be .
They then thank me and go back to the game .They will remember you next time for sure .
