So I figured I would continue the line up with a review from an instructors point. Typically I get in Wednesday night, but because of my birthday, I didn’t get in until early Saturday morning. BTW, thank you Dom and all for the cake on Saturday. That was fun. Anyway, for us, these days are grueling. We get up so early to meet, have breakfast and get to the class before the students. The days are tough. It takes a lot to constantly watch for little flaws in someone’s throw, or the tiniest movement in someones hand or their release being slightly off. By the time the day is over, we are tired. We then have a 45 minute drive back to Tunica. We go to our rooms and freshen up a little and then out to dinner. It’s usually pretty enjoyable laughing, joking and catching up since we only get to see each other a few times a year. Then off to the tables where for me at least, this is the place to earn extra money. Although I would be lying if I said I did not enjoy it, for me this is work. I am there to earn money. Which is why if you ever notice, i will NEVER drink alcohol at the tables. I want to be alert and sharp and ready to take them down. The problem is we are usually so tired from the class that we usually cut the evening short. So this Saturday night was short but profitable. On the way to our rooms, Dom, Matt, Daryl and myself stopped to play a card game. We grinded it out for awhile and on my last two hands got two nice bonuses for a nice profit. Cashed out and went to bed.
Sunday morning was the same. Met for some breakfast and drove up to Memphis. For me, this is my favorite part of the weekend because I love the hands on betting at the table that we do. It really gives the students a chance to throw the dice and bet. It’s also a great opportunity to ask questions. As far as the class this weekend, I think there are many students from this group who have so much potential. I saw so much improvement from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. I really think you guys are gonna go far if you keep practicing. Anyway, by the time we pack up and get the equipment back to storage and return to the hotel, I was exhausted. Decided to hit the buffet for some quick food and then some play time. We had a pretty good Sunday night. Finished up with Dom throwing a beautiful 30+ hand with some hardways thrown in there. Needed one more 10 which was the point and it would have been a big payday. Every time he hit another 6 or 8, Dom and I would drop another $25 chip on our odds. Gotta love them 100x odds. Anyway, went to bed with another winning session.
Woke up Monday morning and played with Nick for awhile. Couldn’t get too much going. Met up with the rest of the GTC gang and had some breakfast. Had to leave for the airport by 11:30. So Nick, Pat, Janice, Matt, Tommy and myself went to a crapless table they just opened. No monster rolls, however, Nick hit a 12 with 12 as his point for a nice 6 to 1 payoff. Only played for about an hour before having to leave but walked away with another profit. So it was a great weekend. Got to teach some great students, hang out with some great people and made money. What else could you ask for. Can’t wait for Vegas.

I think you guys should take your own advise and either play before classes start or extend trip which may be cheaper for air fare to MON. OR Tus. Or even Wed if possible .But I do realise that you guys are busy and have lives other then GTC.
I had to retire 8 years ago so time is no worry .
Just a thought since nobody replied . I thought it was great to post the other side of this .It is great to see both sides .I made my own table and play stick man a lot so see the dealers side .
Hope you teach many more for as long as you can .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

The bottom line is that more often than not the times after setup, open house and classes Sat and Sun are usually losing play at the tables or at the very best very low winnings. Hardly worth it.
However the times on Thursday and Friday morning are usually on the winning side with the after class sessions on Monday and Tuesday are where we make our money. So our decision for AC is to stay out of the casinos on Friday and Saturday nights when the room rates are so high and chances of being successful are minimal. Will stay at a non casino hotel out on the White Horse Turnpike those 2 nights where the cost is about a third of the cost of the boardwalk casinos prices–only a 7 minute drive into downtown AC. IN Vegas on Friday and Saturday nights, we lost back some of the winnings from Thru and Fri mornings. There is a message there—don’t play when tired. Will post how this works out.
