Story time!!!
I’ll start by saying I was pumped up for months for this Primer event in Memphis. One was I had never been to Mississippi let alone any casinos down there but most importantly I was meeting a group of the best dice controllers in the world to learn a craft that few can do. I use to think of craps as the dumbest game in the casino. I didn’t know nothing about the game other than you’re throwing dice to the other end and thats just a game of chance like roulette. Who the hell would waste money on that crap. (No pun intended) I enjoy playing poker and take it seriously. I feel any game you play you need an advantage on or why bother playing. One day my fiances grandma told me stories of the glory days where she make a few hundred grand shooting craps (she got lucky). It got my attention and so I started my search for a "system" or what could be found on advantage play for Craps. Looked on youtube and found some A&E show about Breaking Vegas and well yall know the story there. So I searched out Golden Touch and here I am long story short. So I drive down from Kentucky with my fiance and 2 of the 3 kids. Drive wasn’t too bad really and we arrived that Thursday.
The next day we get up and wanted to go to Graceland before the meet and greet that afternoon for the GTC seminar. My lovely lady was taking her time getting ready, cause thats what they do apparently, so I went downstairs to look at the poker room. Needless to say I was a little disappointed in the poker room. It was just really bland to me. Before heading up to the room I figured I’d go check out the craps tables and where they were at. As I was walking around the craps tables and walked by one in particular one of the shooters caught my attention. It was the way he was shooting. He was very deliberate in his actions and methodological. Then I noticed this other guy standing beside him. He kinda looked like Harvey Keitel (the actor). I had no clue what anyone from GTC looked like other than an idea what Dom looked like. So I stood at the end of the table behind them and watched. I never said anything to them and I dont know if they wanted me standing behind them watching either but I did for several minutes. As I watched these guys I was 100% sure that was Dom and that it wasn’t just him there. It was the whole dam crew. I was in awe really. Then at the other end of the table a spot opened up so I went down there right away just to say I played with the best of em. I passed on my turn to shoot when the dice came around cause I didnt want a "talking to" when I got to class. At this point they had no idea who I was. As I was certain as well that the lady beside me was with them I asked her if that was Dom at the other end of the table and she said yes and I introduced myself to her but very low key cause I didnt want to draw attention. Turns out her husband was my instructor for my Primer session known as Dr. Crapology. It was a great start to the weekend really. I think I was only at the table for 10 minutes or so then had to go get the family to go to Graceland.
Graceland sucks in my opinion. They took a great mans life and death and commercialized the hell out of it in crappy part of town just to make a buck. Not only that he was dug up from his original resting place and put in Graceland so visitors can take pictures. I’m sure Elvis would not like how things had turned out at his home. I dont think he actually ever died back in the day but thats just my conspiracy theorist ideas coming out.
Anyways…
The meet and greet went well and was eager to start the weekend. By the end of the first day I was ready to take on the world but I was still very new in my walk in the Craps world and decided against playing Saturday night and just wait until after the seminar was completed on Sunday. (Yes I left out everything that happened in class on Saturday as to not spoil all the fun and excitement. We did however learned a lot about dice control) 😆 😆 No poker for me Saturday night as all I wanted to do was shower and sleep. Sunday was how to learn about proper betting which is just as important as dice controlling. Its like peanut butter and jelly. Salt and Pepper. Milk and Cookies. You know all those analogy type things. But what I was most eager for was the shootout. First place got a plaque and 100 bucks. I wanted the challenge and glory of saying I won it. What I really liked most is that we could trash talk the whole time. I was a little disappointed in the other students abilities to trash talk as we all came from different parts of the US. I was expected a great trash talking battle with the northerners but didn’t happen like I wanted. Maybe next class. However I did have a lot of fun messing with everyone shooting and was very pleased that I didnt get shanked after class. What I was most pleased with is that I won. The class is just great and it met all my expectations. At that point I also learned craps isn’t a game of chance but a game that can be beaten with skill.
So being Sunday night and we were leaving Monday morning to come back to the Bluegrass State I decided to test out my new skill set. I walk downstairs at roughly 9pm give or take a few minutes to try and find a table and spot to play. And there she was….sitting there like a gift from God….a glorious Craps table……and presented to me was an empty SL1. I stepped up and claimed it like I owned it. I felt like King Arthur pulling Excalibur from that dam stone! I 5 counted the random rollers around until it got to me. I had maybe a 3 or 4 roll. It really sucked but didnt let it bother me. I analyzed after my roll what the dice looked like when I picked them up, how they looked in my fingers, how tight I held them, my stance, my breathing, my execution, and then finally how they looked in the air. What was amusing was that when I first got to the table most of the shooters were Dont bettors. Most of them went away except for one guy who took position in my shooting path. He had bought in for something like $6000. After a few rounds I figured I out I could just stop betting the random rollers completely and just wait my turn to bet on myself as I was bleeding off money. I was getting better on keeping track of my rolls. I wasnt throwing a lot of big numbers to me. Maybe 7 to 10. After a couple hours I was still around and so was Mr. Don’t bettor. The dice came back to me again and I was bound determined that this SOB is going broke betting Dont on me. I rolled a point then making it a few rolls later. Then I made a point of 8. Mr. Dont bettor puts $3200 in Dont Odds. I was super pumped at the opportunity to put a dent in his little bankroll over there. All I needed was an 8. I was very methodological in what I was doing. As I rolled I could hear the instructors from class evaluating my throw and correcting flaws. Dom, Dr. Crapology, Nick at Night, No Field Five, Mr. Finesse all in my head like drill instructors. My throws were looking good but hitting around my point. Roll after roll. The stickman gives me the dice. All I need is the 8. I position my body. I tapped my fingers on the table then lightly gripped the dice. I squared off. Put the dice under my nose. Visualized the 8. Took a deep breath then exhaled. Looked down the table at my landing zone. Pulled my back swing and fired. The dice were beautiful as they left my hand. They sailed through the air perfectly and they landed beautifully but one of the die hit a chip and I sevened out. I saw the look of relief from Mr. Dont bettor. I felt good about it though. Everything I did was right. I looked down and saw I ended on a roll of 19 before sevening out. I was very pleased with myself. I decided at about 130 in the morning to call it quits as I was getting tired and could tell it was affecting my throw. I colored up down for the night just a little bit but happy with my performance. As I walked the hallway to the room I reflected on the weekend and my trip to learn a thing or two about dice control. I met some great people, made some new friends, and look forward to the future of my Craps walk. The journey of a thousand miles…….

Saturday and Sunday showed us that you are a good student and took to the instruction very well.
You are proof that you can lead a horse to water, and he will drink. You have a bright future ahead of you as an Advantage Player.

Great read and thanks for sharing on our GTC board.
You came to class, you listened and you will be successful.
I love the trash talk, you dished it out and you could take it. You certainly put your money where your mouth is. I look forward to watching you proceed on your journey. Keep up with the practice and hope to see you soon at a future class.
