Decided on the spur of the moment to go to Vegas, Sally was able to get us comped rooms. Very uneventual drive from Los Angeles on a Sunday morning. Took us only 5 hours with one break for gas and a pit stop.

Actually had my largest loss for a trip in several years, High triple digit overall. Two thirds of the loss on my own rolls. Rolled 37 different times over the three days at two different Bconnected properties, 4 different Total Rewards TR properties, and three other properties.

Rolled 37 times, only two point sevens but also only two rolls over 20, a 23 & 28. My SRR was only 5.7, with almost 60% of my rolls being 6 or less. Generally I thought the rolls were looking good, but the outcome was bad. Only 38% of my rolls stayed on axis after they landed.

Played at $5 tables for all the non Total Rewards properties and a two of the TR locations. Several of the TR properties still had the fire bet but I never saw a winner on it and the only winner a saw on similar bets was one person hitting the Small once on the ATS.

Stopped at the casino on the way in and my first roll was a PSO. CFer had a roll of 22 and I was then $1 short of even. I followed with the 23 and was positive. Lost a little on the two rolls by CFer and then lost on my final roll, but left a low double digit winner.

After checking in played where I stayed. First two rolls were a 5 and a 6. Lost on the 5 and was even on the six. Later rolls were 13 and 12 and I won almost twice as much more on the 12 as on the 13. Took a break and subsequently had rolls of 3, 8 and then my 28. The 28 had 1 six winner and only 4 8 winners so I didn’t make a lot on it.

All in all first day, I was up sigle digit on my rolls and down single digit overall.

Started the next morning at an off strip casino and had a $5 table to myself. Started off with rolls of 4, 4, and 5. No comeout winners or losers and rolled one each 6/8 that I collected on. Finally had a roll of 15, made two points. Rolled no 6/8 and only was down one red. Followed that with a roll of 5,no rolls I collected on and then a PSO. Horrible session.

Drove down to the strip and started at the north end of the TR casinos. All I could find were $10 tables or the $5 table is full, so I keep walking south. Eventually find an empty $10 table to play at. Had a roll of 12 that I made a little on. One person came and I lost on her and then had a roll of 14 and left up a little since the table had filled up.

Went across the street and found an empty $10 table. First roll was a five with no winning throws. Other people showed up and I loss some on the ones that qualified. My next roll was a 17, mostly garbage and I loss some more. After losing a little more on other, I then had a losing roll of 3. Loss of low triple digit at this casino.

Walked on south and the last TR casino had three table open, but the all were $15 so I passed and walked on south of MGM.

Found a $5 table with only one other at the table. Had rolls of 9, 10, 8, and 8. Down a white on my first roll but made a little on each of the next three rolls. Left a winner at this casino and got a bite of lunch.

On the way back to parking, saw that the casino with all $15 tables had closed one of them and another table was almost empty and was now $10. I bought in and my first two rolls were 3 rolls each. A CFer had a roll of and made three point and I had a winnings in the teens. Two more CFers that I lost on and I then had a roll of 17 with my winning only in the teens. Back to the car and off to where we were staying.

Rolled twice with rolls of only 4 and 6 and in between my rolls a CFer qualified both times and I lost on both of those rolls also.

Called it quits for the evening. Took a sandwich to the room and watched the NCAA final. Great TV game.

That was the worst individual day I can remember having since I left Tunica.

Next morning the table was full where we stayed and we drove to a local casino we had never been to before. They only had one craps table and it didn’t open until 11 so I didn’t play. Sally lost a little on VP. Will probably go back next time in town

We changed hotel and we couldn’t immedcately get into our room since the system was down. Two table both full so I walked across the street to a TR casino and was happy to see it was a half full $5 table. Table was cold, some big money $1,000+ bought in. I had two losing rolls of 6 each and lost and 9 of the 11 CFers qualified and I lost money on each of them also. If there was any good thing, I didn’t lose as much as the others did.

Walked back to where we were staying. My first roll was a different roll for me, 3,7, 2, 6, 6, 12, 8. Even though I had made the 6 right back I never made the 8 even though I rolled 12 more time. Next 3 times with the dice were rolls of 5, 3, and 3. I went to the room to read a book I had brought with me.

If nothing else, you logged some mileage. 🙂 I wish you success on your next trip. I have shared your experience of the dice looking good with negative results. Thanks for the trip report.

Catch you later!

ACPA–it happens. Have been there and done that. Everything looks good just bad results. We just hang in there and we get it all back and then some in the long run.

Now what helps us the most—someone taking a look at our throw. Doc and Rose are most fortunate since we get to critique each other on a regular basis at home. But probably more important during a class weekend we have several instructors do the same for us. These things really bring to light a few imperfections that have worked there way into our throw. Always remember the pros on the PGA tour have coaches who critique there golf swing on an ongoing weekly basis. We are no different.

Come to a class weekend and take a tune up from Finesse or take the elite video. Better yet really get the real meal deal with a refresher. And at the very least come to the open house and we can take a 5 minute look at your throwing technique.

Beside all of that we would love to see you once again and possibly have a meal together. GTC misses seeing you.

Doc,

I’ll consider doing something if the next trip turns out like that one. However, I suspect that is was just normal variance. No one wins every time. Hope to sometime play with you and Rose again. But I don’t get to Vegas anywhere as much as I got to Tunica when I lived in Arkansas.

Doc — you are fortunate that you can critique Rose

If I try that with that Princess, I’ll be walking funny (or funnier) for a week

Hope all is well for you both — great to see you in AC last month
