Soft Felt Surface tables

Spread the love

A little advise please: soon I will be at a casino with tables that when you push on the felt you can feel and see you finger sink in about an eighth of an inch or a little more. Question is how do you adjust your toss. Low and skip to the allegator or try to land just in front of the wall and have little or no room for secondary bounce. Thanks for the suggestions.

Tables like that can be frustrating to play on. My first thought is play elsewhere but if that’s all you got I suggest you take some throws and pay attention to how the dice react when they hit the table. Depending on what is underneath the felt the dice could bounce like superballs or die like beanbags. Try a lower trajectory. If that doesn’t help try changing the amount of spin. Try different things and maybe you will find something that works. Good Luck with it.

Thanks, I stay there with a comped room as I travel through the area. I have had good times with the slow low throw, and some not so good. I quite very quickly when not winning. Thanks again for your insight. Set44 😀 😀 😀

On a bouncy table, you want to come in with a low trajectory and more back spin. But a table like that you will find very hard to control your dice on. Don’t get frustrated. If you can avoid playing on this particular table, do so by all means. If not, then play to have fun and nothing else. I’m not sure how much control you will have on your dice. Good luck.

You know my response to that, laughing….. been going real good lately.

I think it is much better not to play, than try to adjust the way you throw.
Keshena has just received their new table. The table bounce is not bad, but the
back wall is terrible. NO matter how I tried to place more back spin, or soften the
shot, it was not what I wanted to bet my money on.

So I did what you think I did and have had a 51, 62 and this week a 33 and 35.

Big rolls like that on that kind of table ????

Either you have some mad shooting skills or you’re the luckiest shooter on this board

Those kind of table conditions are close to where the Princess and I live….although I’ve had some big rolls at this place (a 60+ and a 50+) and hit a total of 6 fire bets (Two 5’s and Four 4’s), I’ve PSO’d there more than any other casino in the USA. And, the table limits are so high, a few PSO’s and my bankroll really feels the pain — I get SO FRUSTRATED there, I almost pull out the few hairs I have on top of my head — (I just wish A/C, NJ was closer to us)

And, if the local NFL Football team is playing at home (Stadium is only a 10 minute walk away) on Sunday, you better bring LOTS of $$$$$$$ to afford the tables there

Good luck in your journey

see

You have had lots of good rolls there, the question is can a person play
well enough on tables that dont fit them to feel you have an edge or the same
edge you do on your home table.

I have quit trying to do things I cant do and play only on tables that I
can find a way to be affective on.

The problem is the numerous PSO’s and the high table limits at this location

Lion,

Don’t betting? Although nothing works all the time either way. Chop is a casino’s friend. Just food for thought. Best idea is, of course, like GMan said, don’t fight it but play somewhere else. Longer drive and playing less often may be the best way to make some coin. Hope you find a situation that works for you.

I want to thank everyone for the insight, much appreciated. Gman, I’ve seen you do it – way to go! I’ll see you in a couple weeks. Set44 😆 😆 😆

I definitely have no problem going to the Dark Side

The problem is the very high table limit and the extreme random-ness of the dice even for skilled shooters

It’s getting difficult to afford playing there …another problem is, the place is 20 minute drive from the house…..and a 10 minute walk from my work (OUCH)

Lion,

Not trying to be a jerk here so I hope you don’t take it like that.

Read what you wrote in your above post and then read it again and again.

You said " random-ness of the dice even for skilled shooters" Mathematically, Craps is a NEGATIVE expectation game for random rollers—- always! That is how the casinos make money.

Hence, you said "it’s difficult to afford playing there". Because the dice are random and it is a negative expectation game. I am not questioning your tossing prowess or your income status but you can’t afford to play there because you are losing money. If you were winning(except sporadically)then your bankroll would be growing and you could afford to play there because it would be an Advantage place to play for you. It is not. Read your own post above.

I know you know all of this because you wrote it first. Nothing I just said is new to you. Discipline is a tough thing for every one of us including me. Just trying to be helpful to another board member. Play with your mind and not your emotions! Hope you can think through a new tactic and skip this casino. Good luck wherever you play!

Not a problem at all

I skip this place quite a bit

It’s brutal there both from a shooting perspective and a bankroll issue — I can’t just "belly-up" to the table and kill ’em with a 30 roll and make money — I’m almost surprised when I hit a box number there … even more surprised when the dice DON’T bounce of the table

if the playing/shooting conditions were better (i.e., normal), I wouldn’t mind the table limits

The tables I am referring to is at a big name casino in the Mid-West. I’ll be there Wednesday, throwing the slow, low throw. Good Luck to everyone. Set44 😀 😆 😎
