Trip Report: The Breeze blew into Colorado

Spread the love

Another GTC based friendship has occurred. It started in Vegas when MrE and I met Mrs Breeze at a primer. The Breeze was there and we met also.

The Breeze was on business in Colorado again and we managed to spend some time together on Wednesday. We drove up the "Hill" and arrived at a little after 2:00pm. Casino number one only a half table was open, a common occurrence here, but alas it was full. I recognized several players and knew they would be there for a long time. No sense in hanging around. Crossed the street to my favorite and again only a half table open. No one else there so we took stick left
as The Breeze throws right handed. I took the hook next to the dealer giving me a long way to the back wall but I don’t throw right handed and so that was the only choice. I passed initially to TB. Neither of us got off to a good start but did hit a few numbers to hang in.

I had been struggling for many months and finally figured out what was wrong. Correction made, and a win entered my pocket for the first time in 4 months
about 3 weeks ago. I started looking good but point 7 twice in a row today. Then I noticed I had gotten back in the swing with a problem again, made the correction! Started out tentatively and lo and behold rolled a high 20’s or low 30’s, I didn’t really count. Three points in quick succession, a hard 8 with a lonely $1 on it. They are promoting with 3 points made in a hand and/or a hard 8 with a bet on it. I got 2 spins on the promo wheel, the first a $50 then a $15 in promo chips. The casino forces you to stop and go do the spin then return and continue your hand. 3 rolls later the devil!

Now The Breeze gets the dice and follows suit with a nice roll in the low to mid 20’s. I used the promo chips, made a hit on every one wagered! The Breeze hits a hard 8 with a bet on it, spins and wins nothing. Returns to the table and finishes with 3 points for another spin. Again not a winner! TB rolls a 5 which
he had been rolling all along, rolls a number of 6’s and 8’s but the devil before the 5.

I have a short roll, about 6 or 7. Made a little. By now 2 gentlemen had joined the table but I had the dice and another roll in the mid 20’s. A couple more times around and The Breeze does a point 7 with a 6-1. He says he is cashing out so why don’t we quit for dinner. I agree. He cashes $5 more than I do.
My cash out is 3 1/2 times my buy-in and his up about a third of buy in. We decided to call it a day playing, went to a great Vietnamese restaurant for dinner
in Thornton and farewell for the trip.

This was the first time that we have played together and really made some money. Other times have been small losses or small wins. We both believe fervently in team play. It worked well on this day.

As Goldfinger progresses we shall find time to play together. JBW has been away on a long winter vacation but returns soon and we will get some time at the tables together.

OMC,
There is a group of us that have gotten together for team shooting events. We have found success playing this way. If one of us has a bad day, odds are someone else will have a good day. There several GTC-ers in our area and we enjoy the comraderie and opinions everyone brings to the group.

Hope you find the safety in numbers we have.
