Recently I was joined with a few friends in Vegas. I recorded all my throws over the 4 day period. I threw 23 sessions at 4 different casinos with a total of 233 results and an SRR of 10.13. During those 23 sessions, I threw point seven out just 2 times.
My question is…..What is my best strategy for wagering on myself? I understand the 5 count for RRs but this seems to be a waste of $ for a solid SRR of 10. Thoughts??

Congrats on those stats. A SRR of 10.13 in casino play is really nice work! 😎

That type of SRR can give you a very good advantage.
I believe in recording my hands in practice, and if I use the
hardway set I have a record, the 3v set I have a record or the
2 v set.
The come bet is a good way to capture what the hand is producing.
It is a very good way to get maximum affect
out of the results of your shot without the very high starting bets.
In addition, is you repeat well, you may get a hit or two very early in
the hand to gather in a nice profit on a short roll.
For me with the 3v set I throw more 4’s than I do 10’s, and more
9’s than I do 5’s…So if I place bet, I cover the 6 & 8 which have the lower HA, and
I want to cover another number it would be the 4.
If I am place betting I want to know as much about my shot as possible, the
come bet allows your shot to do the talking.
You decide what your advantage allows.

How many times did you repeat a box number before sevening out?

You need to record 5000 tosses to arrive at a statistically definitive SRR. At that point you have something you can depend on for the long haul.
To answer your question though, I would have used my normal betting strategy of Passline with full odds and 2 come bets with full odds. If I was pounding out the numbers, I might have placed the 6 and 8 with an additional amount and continued to come bet and leave the place bets up. I never 5 count myself.
Now, if I am not tossing the dice well I may not make additional bets other than the PL bet until I am happy with my toss.

You had a great trip on those 233 rolls, no question about that! But, that is such a small sample, that it really means nothing. I am not putting you down, I just want you to be realistic about your abilities, so please take this response in that manner.
So with all this in mind, if after 5000 recorded rolls you have a 6.23 SRR you have an edge with proper betting, which would be to use come bets, or to place the 6/8. NFF has a great SRR and I have what I have and we both do the same thing ….. passline with max odds and 2 come bets with max odds. And like NNF said, if I am pounding a particular number I will double dip on that number with the a place bet on those numbers. Basically it is the Big Skinny.
I became a total come bettor on myself about 7 yeas ago when I broke my ankle. I was at a casino (that I can’t play at anymore) shooting dice standing on one foot. A few of my instructors were there and I threw a 71 roll hand on one foot. I was a come bettor that day because I felt that I was throwing at a disadvantage and I want to make bets that had the lowest house edge, and also, I couldn’t be sure what numbers I was going to hit, so I let the dice and my throw tell me where to bet. I feel in love with come betting 😀
There are a couple of things in the above paragraph that is worth noting. Brothel brought it up when he asked what numbers were you throwing. First I DO NOT believe in signature numbers. On any given day and at any given session the numbers your are throwing will be different. So to say well I throw a lot of 6’s so I am going to place the 6 is not in my vocabulary. Let your throw tell you on that session what you are throwing so come bets are the way to go. This goes without saying that your edge will be greater no matter what your SRR is if you use come bets.
So my advice …. same as Daryl’s ….. pass line with max odds and two come bets to start. In answer to using the 5-count on yourself ….. if you have a 6.23 SRR after 5000 rolls don’t use it on yourself …. if you don’t then use it!

Really a great question and this is a great thread. Rose and Doc do exactly what NFF and Dominator do. We really can’t suggest anything else.
Hope to see you in the casinos soon.

Did you have any come out sevens?

That is exactly what I am saying … lifetime, I don’t believe in signature numbers, but during a session I do. As far as a trip, well if on that trip you are playing at different casinos, I wouldn’t think about the numbers you threw at another casino. Even at the same casino at a different table your shot might change.
I really believe that signature numbers should be out of everyone’s vocabulary

I’m on the road at present and don’t have access to my numbers. I’ll get them for you on your 6/8 question in a day or two. I’ll also look to see how many 7’s I had on the come out. I don’t think it was very often.
Posted by: 4pork on February 14, 2016, 1:36 am
6/8 38 & 39
5/9 32 & 31
4/10 27 & 22
3/11 8 & 12
2/12 4 & 5
7s on come outs = 16
I did set for some 7s on the come outs.
7s to end rolls = 25
That should account for all 259 numbers thrown. Thoughts anyone??
FYI- I used the hardways set mostly with some 3V mixed in.

[pre]6/8 36 & 36
5/9 29 & 29
4/10 22 & 22
3/11 14 & 14
2/12 7 & 7
7's 43[/pre]

"DoughBoy" wrote: Ok I understand the HA on placing the 5 and 9 but when playing TBS how do I get more money on the 5and 9 if I want to double dip? Sometimes 5 and 9 turnout to be my numbers and the 6 and 8 are not. I run into this on a long roll.
This situation only occurs on a long roll when you are well ahead. In those cases I would use place bets and be willing to eat the higher HA. If I am consistently hitting specific numbers on a given hand with a long roll then I am altering the odds on those numbers during that hand.
But these are rare situations. I will not place numbers that have a high HA unless the conditions are right to do so and I have the data to justify my actions.

I am NO were near that but still bet 2 or 3 place numbers and a come right away .Just min. bets tho can always go up more later .
Just think it does not take much to get past an high SRR if there is a few crap numbers in the mix using the 5 count .
I always say IF I am going to loose it may as well be on my roll then some one that I don’t know .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂
