This should be a fun little thread.
Rose and Doc were practicing yesterday and I think Doc may have set a new record–for him anyway. I rolled the dice 8 times before I finally rolled a box number. He had five 7’s (only one 6/1), two 6/5’s and one 2/1. On the 9th roll set a point of 8 with a 4/4. Seemed to get the devil out of the way early.
A new record for me. If any body has any war stories such as this we would love to hear about it.
Rose and Doc
PS–of course Rose never does anything like this!!!!!

I have so many strategies for "come out" rolls, it’s insane — much depends on the table minimum (5,10,15,25) and if there’s a fire bet at that casino.
Let’s go with the $10 table and Fire bet. I use a "superset 12" a my initial set and put $10 on the don’t pass, $15 on the pass line, $5 or $10 on the fire bet, and then put down a $5 world bet. If my shot is on, I’ll hit either a craps or a yo winner….If i’m slightly off, I’ll hit a 6-1 winner ….if I’m more off, I’ll hit a 4 or 10 (I really don’t care as I need them anyway to win the fire bet later)….and if I’m really off, i’ll set-up an inside box number. Each time I hit a "World winner", I press the world up another $5. My best win is over $300 on a come out as I kept hitting winners and then started to bet the 1/2 and 6/5 individually. I used to use the "ace/Duece" set and in 8 come out rolls, I hit 6 craps, 1 yo, and 1 Seven … then on roll 9, finally set-up a box number. On a fire bet table, I only do this up to the 2nd point hit. Once I have 2 points on the fire, I then set-up the dice to specifically hit the remaining box numbers to WIN the FIRE bet.
My betting gives me a 33% chance (2, 3, 11, 12, and the 7 are come-out roll winners) to win $$$ on the come out roll — plus, my initial spread is SO LOW, I have very little exposure. Plus, i can share a box number or two with The Princess, so we have VERY LITTLE $$$ exposure on the initial rolls past the point getting set-up

Rose and Doc look forward to seeing you and the Princess in the casinos soon and of course having a meal together.
Hope Dom and Skinny will respond.

I have not done that in practice yet or any better but have done 6,7 and 10 rolls before est. a point .It is nice to have won your spread before you est. a point .Winning is nice even if it is only 2.00 a roll .
Will try how the Lion does it later in practice .
No more practice till late Sept. or Oct.
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

I will take the 6 for $12 and The Princess takes the 8 for $12 (we share 2 numbers)
I may or may not put odds down since I already have a $5 line bet (15-10=5) (if my point is a 6 or 8, I will put $5 behind the pass line as my odds bet)
I try to hit 6 and 8 and use the casino $$ to build my odds.
I do not put much $$$ out initially. If I have a $5 fire, I always lay against the 4th, 5th, and 6th points. I have almost gotten to the point of starting to lay against point #3 to ensure wins.
I try to get a few hits on place bet numbers we are betting on to get a "win" — then, hitting the point is great, if I can, to WIN that FIRE bet
I play/bet a small game — I like to get 8-10 shots in per session
I’m a big believer that I can get ONE KILLER roll in 10 shots, especially if I’m on a GTC friendly table and the dice are rolling well and feel "good" in my hands/fingers

I’m ok with the betting not biting me — I can usually hit a few winners to make it worthwhile — also, keep in mind that I only do it for the first 2 points on a fire bet table — and we rarely play at non-fire bet casinos
The one thing I like about the "superset 12" come out set is that it gives me a great barometer of my throw & casino dice conditions. Using that set and if I hit a hard-6 or hard-8 on the come out roll, I know something is wrong (my throw / the dice, etc.) — I WILL NOT bet much $$$ when I see that outcome — and, guess what?? — I barely make it past 6 rolls — BUT, i do not lose much, if anything
Also, if hit some winners on the come out (2,3,11,12), I know things are good, confidence is soaring, and usually I have good rolls to support the come-out results
Looking forward to seeing you and Rose sometime soon

What dice set are you using on the come-out roll? (the all-7 ??)
Posted by: SureShot on August 7, 2015, 6:34 pm
I was not trying for the seven – I was using the 2V, but all five sevens were either 3-4 or 5-2.

Then, go back to the hardway set for the regular rolls as it seems the 2-V set would be very risky based on the # of 7’s you’re generating

Rolling out a die or double pitching another die surely is a grip problem.
