Life on the Home Front

Docs' hip Surgery

Spread the love

Moved this off the Craps section of the message board to "Life On The Home Front." Had the surgery one week ago July 6th. Had rehab this morning–Monday, so one week out. Will see the Dr for my first post surgery follow up on Thursday and will be discharged from Rehab in the "in home setting" on Friday.

Then will begin out patient surgery the follow week. So all is going well at this time.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers and most of all I give thanks for Nurse Rose–she has been the best.

Glad to hear it is all going well for you Doc.

But with a nurse like Rose I am not surprised.

Sounds like things are looking GOOD for you Doc. That’s great!
And for Nurse Rose. Nice to have a nice person like her by your side Doc.

Now that I am 2 weeks out from surgery, I feel I am doing quite well. Completed the "in-house" rehab and saw the doctor and he said that it looked really good. Was able to discard the walker and don’t use the cane very much. Will begin out patient rehab tomorrow–Wed. Still have to wear those old support hose for a couple of more weeks. Doc really looks cute in his white hose that don’t quite make it up his shorts. The reason for the hose is the fact that they help to prevent blood clots–especially right after surgery. I don’t feel I need them as I am very active and do all my exercise routine 2 times a day and walk a lot in the house.

Here is the problem with the hose—because I can’t bend real yet with the hip that had the surgery, Rose has to help me put it on. As she brings the hose up the leg she takes advantage and often goes a little my the leg of my shorts. I know this something that Goldfinger really hates. Just kidding about this, but you do need a little humor in these situations.

Am really doing very good and will be ready to go by the Shreveport class in about 6 weeks.

Can’t wait for the 100 times odds in that sweet oasis in Northwest Louisiana.
