Jumbotronron wins 20K Craps qualifying tournament in Caesars AC on 6/14/15

Spread the love

Hey I learned a lot about the game on this message board….just wanted to say thanks to all the people who helped make this happen. I won it on my roll. 4, 10’s, points/odds, and hard ways did it for me. When the table saw I was on fire n put all their money on the board, I came down n set for the 7. I planned that move in advance and my whole strategy worked to perfection. I had a deal with the man upstairs n he gets all the credit. Thanks again. I will go against the 7 other winners n 40 "invited guest" in the middle of July. Winner takes home 100K!! I’m not sure why they are even going through the trouble of having the tournament….I made up my mind I’m Winning the whole thing!!

Congrats on your nice win and much luck in the next round. I enjoyed reading your strategy. Don’t think I would have thought of it. Can you give any more info on the basic rules of the tournament? That would also be interesting.

I like your mind set and I’m a Jumbo believer!! 😀

Bring it home!!! 😎

$500 max bet on pass/come bets with 5x odds. $600 max place bet 6/8. $500 max on the other place bets. 4/10 pays 2 to 1 without actually buying it. No vig on 4/10 makes it a great bet ha wise. $25 max on prop bets hops or whatever. They start you with $1,000. You get 30 minutes n it works like a regular game. After 30 minutes they do a chip count n U get 3 individual rolls to make moves to catch up.

I finished with $4.450. 2nd had $3,000. He was standing next to me and was chasing my total the whole round. I don’t think he would of finished 2nd if he didn’t have that spot but kudos to him regardless cause he could of been stubborn n won nothing. 2nd played payed $5,000 in direct bets. 1st place for the day were the only people to get cash.

I played in one craps tournament many years ago—long before my GTC days. I do know you have to throw out the GTC handbook and make some crazy bets since this is a very short term event and anything can happen. I was simply lucky as I did finish in the money. I had no idea what I was doing. I never got to touch the dice.

In this tournament the person at stick left one got the dice and threw until he had a seven out. All positions at the table were given from a random draw. There were 30 rolls of the dice in each round with 3 rounds through out the day.

The tournament worked like this: the first roller shoots and may roll 8 times when he has a 7 out. Still 22 rolls left. The next roller to his left get the dice and has 4 rolls. Still 18 rolls left. The third shooter has a 12. 6 rolls left. the 4th roller rolls 6 times and the round is over whether he has a 7 out or not. Chips are returned to the players. Chips counted and recorded. In the 3 rounds I never saw over 4 players touch the dice. In one round the first roller had a 30 hand.

Then you play 2 more rounds in the afternoon.

I know that the guy who won, has way down during the last round but had won a couple of thousand in the first 2 rounds and only had $200 left and was not in the money. He put it on the hard 8 hopping and it hit. BOOM $6000.

I came in 7th and won about $400 as best I remember. There was no buy in.

It was fun to see all the crazy ways that people play.

Congrats on the win. Hope you continue.

Doc

Thanks for the Love. Remember I’m 1 of your own!! I’m gonna start a thread and post some of the different rules of the tournament with the purpose of coming up with a solid strategy for rounds 1,2, and 3. The qualifying tourney that I won was different because it was 1 round high score took it. Even though there were 12 different sessions you had to be super aggressive to get the high score. This 1 is half of the 48 players advance to round 2. You don’t have to be so aggressive. I’m thinking in the 1st round you could play a break even game n still advance to round 2. The question is do you start from scratch at the beginning of each round?? That’s important! Also there was only 8 real qualifying winners, the other 40 are "Invited guest." My guess would be these 40 are great at what they do in real life but were invited more than likely for the ton of money they lose not because they are great craps players. Those guys tend to be super aggressive. 1st round maybe I could min pass line ’em to stay even while there super aggressive n wipe themselves out. Starting with a $1,000 with a half hour to play I believe more than 24 will wind up broke.

Skinny thinks he’s not going to help me strategize to win this tournament but he is mistaken….Lol

Question:

Does everyone get to shoot or is it a 30 minute round and then that round is over? In tourneys that I have competed in it was 30 minute round … the players selected numbers and that gave them their position at the table. Some players never got to shoot. That is where the real strategy comes into play.

I came in second in a huge tourney in Vegas many years ago and I lost it on my hand on the last throw in the 30 minute round. My position was at the end. I didn’t think I would even get to throw but I did. A guy who was in third place put everything he had on the 12. If I threw the 12 he would win and knock me into 2nd. I set hardways and as luck would have it, one die landed on a 6 and the other die landed and stopped on the puck for the other 6!

30 minute round starts from SL1. Everyone does not have to shoot. I held the dice for 18 minutes in the 1 I won n the last guy at the table only got a chance to roll once. His name was Joe Casino. I thought that was his nickname but he finished 3rd n it turned out he was his real name n he was a real character.

Prop bets are maxed at $25 so you can not put all your money on 12. You could put a max of $500 in the field n collect $1,000 if it is rolled. If I am down going into the last 3 rolls a $500 field bet might come in handy. Just took someone to JFK so it took me a while to answer. My bad Dom.

If the dealers are not good the game will be SLOW . So you need to consider that in playing in a tournament .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

The dealers will be good. This is a big event for them they will not have rookie dealers.

Just bought Stanford Wong’s book on casino tournaments. I very much respect Stanford Wong and look forward to the knowledge from this book. I’ll let you know my thoughts on it when I finish.
