As Vegas approaches I was thinking back of a lesson I learned last year and thought it would be a good idea to share. There will be a lot of students, mentors, and instructors in Vegas in a week or so. There is a good chance you will be on table that will have every spot filled with a GTC person shooting. I want to stress the importance of the 5 Count. I dare say it is even more important than normal on weekends like this. It is so tempting to go straight out on GTC’ers you know. Thinking they will have a good roll. Next thing you know, you have went out 4 GTC shooter’s in a row and they all have made a few rolls and seven out! Ouch! Now you have dug quite a whole for yourself that you normally would never have done in your normal outings. Usually you are by yourself or with another shooter and that is easily managed.
Last year I got myself in an early hole cause of this type thing. I usually only go out my normal spread on myself. Well, I got a little excited and every spot was filled with a Good GTC player. I went out (Did not 5 count) and wouldn’t it you know it. Got hammered. IF only I would have 5 counted them I would have saved a great deal. As if that was not bad enough, I did this more than once that trip, thinking it just had to turn around! Lol, In fact, that was the first loosing trip to Vegas in 5 trips. And it was when I was surrounded by the best shooters. We just all happened to stink! LOL IF I just would have 5 counted.
I think the Key thing is to get good and make money on yourself, don’t go looking to make money on other rollers. Now if you 5 count, you will be on those good rolls. IF it is a GTC roller and their dice look good, then I would say bet your normal amount, take full odds etc, but don’t go right up on your friends and or GTC’ers. I don’t care who they are, remember if they are really good they are 300 hitters.
Just wanted to pass this along and maybe I can save someone some money. Now, I just have to follow my own advice!!!

Beside the fact that no one has a long roll every time is the fact that most people put a lot of pressure on themselves on these class weekends. No one wants to have a bad toss in front of all the other GTC folks as that feels so humiliating. The more you pressure yourself the worse the toss gets. Best to relax with your own toss and 5 count everyone else! Wish I could be there! Hope you all have some fun and make some money!

It should also be added that a class weekend is extremely tiring for everyone, students and instructors alike. I always 5 count everyone, and also pay attention to how the dice look and are reacting. The 5 count has been proven to save players a lot of money. It should most definitely be used by everyone.

May I add that everyone should follow the 20 commandments …. namely things like if you see an instructor don’t crowd in just to play,(this is not a commandment but maybe should be)….

Great post and every word is so true. It has happened to all of us and if you say it didn’t you probably cheat at golf also!
5 count even 6 or 7 count and remember the 20 Commandments.
Looking forward to seeing everyone next week. Don’t forget to stop by and say hello at the open house on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM.

Those that play at a table with me know that "Sometimes" I get reminded that hey, you are not five counting. Billy, if he is next to me says, Hey do you do 1 -2 then 5? ( thanks for reminding me that patience is a virtue) I have little patience.Ha.
See you all soon at the class tables, casino tables and the dinner tablles..Can’t wait to see "ya-all"

Be sure to mix plenty of water into your drink rotation between sodas and the harder stuff. It’s really friggin hot in Vegas right now so be careful and stay hydrated! Best to everyone at the tables this weekend!!

We have all, (Most on the site) taken the class. Follow the 20 commandments that we teach, play and bet the right way and as Dom and his partners started—"You will win more and loose less". It is true and it is the fact.
Everyone get caught up in the moment, just do not blame that what we have taught and you and all of us have spent 2-3 days on our feet tossing the dice, fixing the grip and the betting—-The betting is what everyone comments about and that is why GTC has increased the time and knowledge you need to succeed.
So, have fun–cuz winning is..and I really do five count……….most of the time. And Always on other GTC’ers I do not play with often. The guys that I am at the table with more often…well, thats another story….SO-FiveCount, Bet properly and read and follow the "top 20" we will all be fine. see ya-all soon.
