AC Report 6/10-6/12/15

Spread the love

We went to AC on Wed. to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. We met up with Adam late morning, and he had a couple of nice rolls (23,2,18). Sandtrap rolled a 4, a beautiful 40 , 4, and 20. ( I wasn’t shooting in order to let them.) A gentleman rolled up in a wheelchair, and asked how the table was doing. He then asked if I was married, just as Sandtrap returned from the restroom. "Yes," I said, "and here he is." "Well, you can’t blame a man for trying." "No, I don’t, " I responded. Another player was betting only the PL, without odds! Why, I asked him. He said he was superstitious, and that he was waiting for a long roll. Well, what about the 40 roll, I asked myself. When the stick changed, the player said it had been a long morning. Well, duh!

When Cliff joined us, we had lunch outside on the boardwalk , watching the gulls scare the children as well as some of the adults. Nothing much happened after lunch, except for Sandtrap, who managed one 16 roll. Then, time for a nap and dinner, again on the boardwalk, and Jack and Mr. Finesse joined us for dinner." Sandtrap managed one 14 roll. Cliff had an 11 and 8 money making rolls. Mr. Finesse had money making rolls of 12, 3, 12 and 17.

Thursday was another difficult day, with the exception my one 28 roll, first thing. Sandtrap had difficulty but managed rolls of 3,11,11,20, 10,and then 13,14, and 8. Although there were chips in his landing area, I reminded him to throw over the chips, where there was plenty of room, and he managed to do so successfully. Bob struggled, and gave his spot to Cliff, who also struggled, so we broke for lunch and a nap.
After the nap, I tossed a very nice 41 roll. A player at my end was betting greens and blacks when we walked up. I was hitting 4’s and 10’s, which he was on. He left on about my 15 roll, which was unexplainable unless he had to meet someone. During my roll, another player started tossing in prop bets after I already had the dice. I finally had had enough. I put down the dice, said, "You’re supposed to make your bets when the dice are in the middle.Let me know when you are ready." Several rolls later, after I had made him some nice money, he passed me a $5 chip as a tip. Cliff thought he should have tipped more. (LOL)

Friday we got on an empty table early, but couldn’t do anything. Sandra asked why I wasn’t shooting, and Sandtrap told her because he hadn’t asked me to do so. Sandtrap and I said our goodbyes, and went to Cape May. Cliff texted me that he had a nice long roll after we left. Naturally.

We went to our favorite B&B, Albert Stevens Inn, where we get a 3 course home cooked breakfast, and cheese, wine, and cookies or brownies from 4-5 pm, and help yourself to coffee 24/7. We sat on the wraparound porch, and met another couple from our own home town, only two blocks away. Another couple had a son who taught in the same NJ school with my daughter. What a small world! The owner always suggests where to have lunch and dinner, and he has never steered us wrong. We also went to our favorite winery, where we could sit outside listening to music, eat cheese and salamis, and drink some good wine. What a nice anniversary we had: good friends, good food, good drink. What more could anyone ask?

A great short trip with friends. We had a great time, I stunk up the place but s–t happens, part of the game we love. The good think my bad hands were very short so not a lot of money on the table.

Time to spend this week getting ready for the Vegas Class which starts next week.

See every one in Vegas in 1 week.
