Spread the love

On the last day when you have the throwing contest I think that there should be some chips put up to show actual play in a casino action . Just a thought . Would be interesting to see how well some may adjust to it . Or even add more as the roll goes on . I know that some of the instructors are vary intimidating during this time which is fun when you are not the one throwing .
I know some one must have a case of chips that they could use .
Or have one table with chips on it or some thing that would represent chips .Come to mind cheap toilet paper roll the empty one .Could be cut in half and would not hurt dice if hit .
Prize given to any body that can get both dice in one . 😆 😆 😆 Just joking .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

Interesting suggestion. But remember the primer students are here for the very first time learning the basic GTC techniques. However we would suggest that we take your idea of using the chips and when instructors are working with refresher students they could use some chips and have them practice target throwing. Primer students are still learning the basics. But you certainly bring up a good point–target shooting should be a part of the instruction weekend.

As to the trash talk from most everyone in the room during the contest on Sunday afternoon, this is a way for everyone to let off some steam after a very intense weekend. Regardless of who wins–and primers more often that not win the contest–we want to end the class on a fun note.

Thank you for your idea. Hopefully others will give ideas of how to improve the class. Most improvements are made from suggestions from students at all levels.

I was going to suggest that the refreshers had to throw with chips on table for the contest but remembered that they do not win all the time . 🙂
Since this is after everybody has taken the class it would be interesting to hear the comments .
After I took the class I started practicing with chips on table .After reading more I will be moving them a little closer to the back wall now .

I remember when I took the primer in Chicago a segment of the class included a session with chips. The instructors gave us chips, I don’t remember the amount, and the dice went around the table once . We all got a chance to throw. It was fun. This would be a great way to give students of all levels a chance to learn the TBS (The Big Skinny). I further believe the TBS betting methodology should be a part of the lesson plan. It gives the player the best chance to have their money on the numbers they are repeating and if used on random rollers does the same thing. As you can tell I am a big believer in this betting strategy. It has served me very well the past few years. I know and respect the views of others who have more skill and experience and who have different betting strategies but I believe the new primer students as well as students of other levels could benefit from having this "tool" in their arsenal. Just a thought.

The primer, refresher, and advanced class is much different now since most of you have taken it. We stress betting so much that we actually have two lectures on betting and one hands on with chips. Come betting is the preferred method that we try to stress. It would be a great idea idea for anyone to re take the refresher, not only to get their throw down, but just as important to get their betting down.

So because it is Sunday and I am in a good mood and because we have had such great posts on betting lately and other things, I am going to make an offer on this post only …… Anyone that calls me within the next 7 days, till June 21st, can attend the any of the remaining refresher seminars for $895 if the class is paid in Full. Just call me at 866-SET-DICE and reference the "Class Suggestion" post and you will get the discount …….

I just might be losing my mind! But you know what they say, as you get older the first to go is YOUR MIND!

Dom, I heard it a little different about getting old.

I will keep this clean: "The second thing to go is your mind–I can’t remember the first."

I hope this may be a good idea and maybe not but here it is .
The last day have ever body that wants to take a turn at being the dealers while others play in a round robin way .How many really know what it is like to be a dealer . Since I built my own table I kind of found out a little more of what it is like to pay out bets .Just a thought that I know PIT BOSS WOULD LIKE .
I think things have gotten a lot better in the last few years with the classes and this site .Keep up the great work .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

Love the idea, however, as a craps dealer, it is incredibly hard to keep up with all the bets and payouts with 6-7 players on your side of the table and that’s in a fun game like setting. I think it would be incredibly slow and take too much time. Although I will tell you that dealing craps is so much fun and I miss it terribly. I wish they would open a casino closer to my home so I could start it up again.

Look into a gaming place that hold events for charity nights .It could be some side money for you and fun .
Done mostly at night so would not interfere with job .
