I just discovered a terrific show that I absolutely love.
It originally aired on ABC for two seasons from 1998 to 2000. The title of the show is Sports Night.
Sports Night is an American television series about a fictional sports news show also called Sports Night. It focuses on the friendships, pitfalls, and ethical issues the creative talent of the program face while trying to produce a good show under constant network pressure. It was created by Aaron Sorkin and is a half-hour prime time comedy-drama.
Aaron Sorkin is an American screenwriter, producer, and playwright. His works include the Broadway plays A Few Good Men and The Farnsworth Invention; the television series Sports Night, The West Wing, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, and The Newsroom; and the films A Few Good Men, The American President, Charlie Wilson’s War, The Social Network, and Moneyball.
If you like any of those shows you will be enamored with Sports Night.
Reruns of the show are being aired on Fxx @ 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM daily, Monday to Friday. There are 23 episodes in Season 1 and 22 episodes in Season 2. It will take you about 23 days, roughly 4.5 weeks to DVR all the shows since they are showing 2 of them each day.
They are in the middle of season 1 right now. I started watching in the middle of season 1 and watched all the episodes consecutively back to where I began. I don’t think you lose much if you start in the middle. There is some continuity that is lost by not starting at the beginning but it is not that bad.
