Recommnedations for Spring Break and casinos

Spread the love

Planning on a Spring break for next month and would like to know if anyone has played in Puerto Rico and what I might expect if we end up there? Also the wife is pulling for Aruba and was wondering if anyone had any experience with casinos there?

Also any other Spring Break destinations anyone might recommend with craps table worth the effort.

Playing conditions, heat, tipping is a given, any places in particular etc. Please private message me if you care to share anything.

It’s all about "practice and data" Take good notes.

I’ve been looking at the casinos in PR as well. I brought my son diving there back in ’05 and enjoyed the Marriott, but hadn’t played craps yet. I did watch and learn 3 card poker there though.

I’m doing a cruise in November out of PR and want to get my hotel booked and I’m looking at Hilton Condado as well. Here’s a good list and there are decent maps of locations. Nothing is really far away from what I remember and what I’ve been looking at. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g147319-zff14-Puerto_Rico-Hotels.html

Would like to hear other’s thoughts as well.

Aruba

Have been to Aruba two times but it has been sometime since we were last there. It is a great place to have a pleasant and relaxing time—-BUT gambling is not one of them. On the craps tables they would not allow setting of the dice at almost all of the casinos. The BJ was 8 deck shoes or continuous shuffle machines–or CSM for short which stands for chicken sh**t machines!!! Would Rose and Doc go again? In a heart beat. the island is extremely clean, food excellent, beautiful beaches and water, scuba diving, snorkling, and other activities.

Would we go again. In a heart beat.

Definitely Aruba. My favorite of the Caribbean islands. The weather is perfect year round. And the crosswinds makes it feel comfortable all of the time. There is also a lot on the island to do. You can rent ATV’s or dirt bikes and go off-roading. Horseback riding. SUV rentals for off-roading. There is Baby Beach, the lighthouse and The Natural Pool.

As far as gambling, there are many many casinos on the island. All fairly small. They all have the CSM like Doc said. The place I would recommend the most to play at is the Marriott! They are the largest casino on the island. I worked there for a couple of years and can verify that most of the dealers are really nice. Since working there, I’ve been back several times and never had any problems with dice setting. Now everytime I have been back, I have known part or all of the crew so that may have something to do with it. But definitely a fun place to visit.

If you decide to go and have never been, be prepared to see a bunch of very large iguana’s. The island is infested with them. They are harmless but my wife broke her foot day 1 of our first trip there because we didn’t know about them and one scared the hell out of her.

Thanks for the information to all. Made reservations for Puerto Rico for Spring Break and would appreciate any information regarding casinos etc for there.

If all is well, the Lord willing and the creek doesn’t rise Aruba will be on for next year. Thanks for the Aruba recommendations.

Keep us posted after the trip, I’ll be in PR in November for 3 days before a cruise and will be interested in your take on the tables.
