Flat Dice

Spread the love

My son asked How do I get my dice to hit flat each time. My answer was well, ugh, lets see, umm, We can use sand, foil etc to see if they hit flat. He said I know that, HOW do I make them hit flat EACH AND EVERY time, not SOMETIMES. Well practice more is all I know, so I will ask you for the answer ?

How do you define landing "FLAT"?
Assuming you mean on the first landing of the dice before hitting the wall,
does "FLAT" mean landing on the faces of the dice,
or do you include landing on the edges of the dice?
I would say the it’s pretty much accidental and cannot be controlled,
either way. Do you really do that consistently? Or even frequently?
Anyone disagrees?

STS If they land FLAT then do they just bounce straight up to be know as a dead cat bounce ? Or are we talking about flat with a forward heading to the wall ?
They say there should be a smacking sound that you can hear .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

A dead cat bounce is not what I always want and yes it "smacks". Many times one hits flat and stops and the other keeps rolling and on axis the chance for a double pitch is one in four. Stopping flat usually occurs when I am too high with the angle and short of the back wall. Dealers definitely do not like flat landings and that generally brings heat although some understand if you don’t do it very often.
