I received an update on Marilyn’s status this morning and it is not good. She has been diagnosed with leukemia and another condition. She will need our prayers to pull her out of this so lets all pray to whom ever we pray to.
Remember our prayers worked for Charlie so lets do it again for Marilyn.
PRAYERS WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN

My children came down from MA last night, and the rest of the family is coming today.
I would love hearing from people, so long as I don’t have to repeat what is going on. Bob will get the updates from myself or my son. Thaks to all my instructor friends who have already been in touch with their prayers.
Thank you in advance for all your prayers.

Marilyn – think only good thoughts about getting well and your future winning episodes at a table near you. Try to keep a smile on your face and a good thought in your minds eye!
Get well !!!

We are off tomorrow to the Dana Farber Cancer Inst. in Boston, where my cousin has a friend who is a specialist in leukemia . Then, we come home for another consult. We want to be sure we will be doing the best treatment possible.
In any case, we will be starting treatment next week. Please keep the prayers coming. We need every single one.
Thanks you everyone. Goddess

Jusy my two cents as I feel helpless in your treatments and recovery. But, we will offer up prayers. One prayer is to see you and Charlie in AC!!!
So, see you soon and I also pray for alittle or no dis-comfort…Expect if Charlie gets to be a "Pain in the A?*# " 😀

You can do this just like you learned hoe to play craps. I still remember the day we all met you and Charlie at Sunset Station in 2003.

finished the three days of bolus antibiotics. Now on 4 more days of 24/7 straight antibiotic. Hgb has gone down to 6.o so got 2 units of blood. very high temps for 3 days. normal now. Very low BP yesterday. Gave extra fluids to raise it. No have to take fluid off with diuretic. Quite a catch22 and a merry_go-round. Charlie sleeping in room until tomorrow at least.

Nothing much new to report. Getting transfusions almost every day, with Benadryl to prevent a reaction, which puts me to sleep for 3-4 hours. Tend to wake up at 3am,, and then sleep the morning away. I do try to sit in the chair most of the day, whether asleep or awake, per orders of the cardiologist. I get very scared at night, so Charlie is still sleeping here with me. Don’t know what I would do without him. Thank goodness he is healthy right now. He also brings me ice and drinks, which would take the aides forever.
Happy Birthday Bobby. You’ve been a terrific friend these past 12 years.
Much love to my GTC family, Marilyn

I pray that she can beat this thing and return to her beloved casino crap with Charlie.
I have seen people pull through may bleak prognosis and return to their life. I pray that will be the case here.

Marilyn was discharged from the hospital last weekend, everything was progressing better than expected.
She had another bone marrow test yesterday(Tuesday) and waiting for the results. If they are as good as expected she will enter the hospital next week(27th) for phase 2 of her treatment.
Lets keep those prayers going, we still have a long road ahead and we want to see Marilyn in AC next March. And Charlie also 😀

However, the fight is not yet over. On Sunday I begin the consolidation phase, where I will be admittted for 6 days to receive more chemo. This cycle will be repeated for 3 times. However, if the cycle interferes with the holidays, I might delay a cycle for a week.
I am working towards going to AC in March. However, the doctor also said that those who do very well during the induction phase, as I did, usually feel very short of breath and fatigued for many many months.
So please keep the prayers coming that I stay in remission. I firmly believe that my GTC family has helped enormously, just as you did when Sandtrap was in hospital. I love you all, and hope to see some of you soon.

Great GOOD News:
Nov 14 at 7:16 PM
Today is 2 weeks from my last chemo. I have been going to the cancer clinic 3 times a week for labs and transfusions each time. Today I was told that all my blood counts are up, and I didn’t need any transfusions today.
Not only that, but I only have to go once next week for labs. AND, I have been given the total week of Thanksgiving off! I am ecstatic!
I will be admitted to the hospital 12/1 for the 2nd week of chemo in the consolidation phase, and will be home on Saturday. Since chemo reaches its height in the body 7-10 days after the last dose, I expect not to feel to well the following week, but that’s ok. The docs say I am doing very well.

I will have a 2-3 week break, and then 1-2 more cycles. How many is dependent on how I accept each cycle; that is how sick I get. Also, how my blood counts do as far as returing close to normal and how quickly.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my daughter and her family from MA, cousins, and 2 of Charlie’s children and their children. I hope all of you did also.
Please keep all the prayers coming. They helped Sandtrap, and I am convinced you are helping me.

Discharged on IV antibiotics, that I have to administer to myself. Doing well now, and was given this week off. Only have to go in next Wed. for labs and possible trasfusions.
Probably going into hospital Jan. 5th for a week of chemo. This will be the 3rd cycle in the consolidation phase.
Please keep the prayers going. I am certain they are working.

The trick is to get your doctor to write a prescription for a cranial prostheses making your insurance pay for it.
This I know from a life changing event for a woman I was with in the 90s.
Trust me no one could tell it was a piece.
I mean she went once every two weeks to get it styled and cleaned cut fixed primped it was way cool.
I still remember the day she tried it on and the smile it put on her face.
Take care all my best.

I will probably go home Wednesday after the last chemo dose in the morning. If I don’t develop fevers this week, and tolerate the chemo, then there will be the 4th and last 6 day chemo in 3-4 weeks.
If all goes well, I will be finished in time to go to AC the end of Feb. so you can all please pray for that as well.
Thank you all for bringing me and Sandtrap through our catastrophic illnesses with all your prayers.

The docs say I am one of their strongest patients for my age. I told them I don’t let anything get me down. The power of positive thinking, and always looking for the positive in everything.
Looking forward to seeing all my old friends and making new ones in AC in 3 weeks.

This week my blood counts have been coming up, and I didn’t need any transfusions. I have also graduated to once a week visits. When my counts get close to normal, I will go to the clinic once a month for two years, and then once a year.
I have been given permission to travel, so I will definitely be in AC this week, and I will be a mentor. I do get tired, and sometimes my legs don’t work too well. If I have to walk a long distance I use a walker. For short distances I use a cane, and at home I don’t even use that.
Thank you for all your prayers, which I am very certain had an impact on my recovery. The doctors said most of their patients are not doing as well as I am.
I am so looking forward to seeing everyone.
