Two weeks ago I was in the midst of my 36 number roll. My dice were dead on and I was crushing numbers. Had a 4pt fire after hitting the 6 3x lol. I needed the 10 and from my 2V that’s easy for me. I’m picking up my dice and the poppy to the corner near the dealer says 3 way $5 each and hits my hand as I’m raising the dice. I F’ing lost it I looked at him and called him a F’ing idiot as he shot back F you I said you have to be the dumbest player I’ve ever seen. Everyone at the table was ready to kill him we were making a lot of money at the $25 table. After ranting and swearing I walked around came back and tried to recollect my thoughts if I wasn’t in the middle of trying to hit the 10 for the 5th fire and $1,250 I would have pulled all my bets down and walked. I tried to collect myself but all I could think about was punching this Ahole in the throat…I was focused and zoned in until he hit my hand that messed my mind up completely. I threw 4 more numbers but couldn’t hit the 10 threw 2 yo’s and 2 9’s I was so close. Learned my lesson…

Kaz, what happened is indeed a shame. But, a great big BUT, unfortunately it is simply part of the game. These idiots are just part of the game–always have been and always will be. I don’t mean to take this situation lightly as I have been there several times and I simply hate it. If something like this had happened a few years back and I had had a weapon I might have gone after him. I have mellowed over the years.
I am really glad you posted this story as we can all learn from it. Rose and I know how difficult it can be when these things happen but we are advantage players and over time we will over come these situations. I have seen Dom have people tell him to roll the dice like a real player and the idiot plays the don’t. Dom killed him–not literally but the idiot did lose a lot of money.
I feel certain you are the type who in time will learn to focus out these incidents and move forward. It’s like having an ahole dealer, stickman or pit poss and being able to focus him out and continue to play. It never helps to argue. Remember there is always another craps table.
You really handled yourself pretty good, but we can always improve. A good read. Rose and I hope to meet you in the casino soon.

Kaz, as Doc says this is unfortunately part of the game.
This next part is not just meant for you but for everyone on the board.
There are many players who have no idea what we are trying to do. They do things that throw us off but it is usually not deliberate. They are in their own world and don’t understand what we are doing. That does not make them wrong per se, it just means we have to work harder at not being distracted by them.
There are many, many things that can throw you off your game if you allow it to do so. You have to be able to develop the ability to not let these things effect you and your game. It is a skill that you can learn. The more you play, the more you will notice these distractions. But rather than build up a tolerance through experience it is better to practice being distracted and not let it disturb you.

Thanks guys. I’m used to all the distractions even the out boss telling me to hit the wall on my throw if I miss one in the middle of a long throw. I’m used to many is the distractions even people throwing chips in front of me when I’m grabbing my dice hitting my hand just sent me over as I was never this focused before and I was dead nuts on. I can take a lot and zone out the junk. I was told after the throw this guy (doctor no less) is the most ignorant person around. He saw me at a table this weekend and walked away he’s probably thankful I let him walk. I’ve had a guy tell me I should never throw the dice again that I’m horrible across a crowded table. I might have mentioned her better leave before they found him in the dumpster out back…. :-O I’m definitely doing better after this and these are all great learning experiences for all of us. I’m starting to practice meditation this week as well and add another level to my game. I’ve finally gotten my breathing and focus going and my ritual.

That sounds great Kaz. What you happened to you could certainly throw the most experienced of us off. In the long run it will help you because you have been able to put it in perspective and learn from it.

I have been with Kaz when some things like this have happened (just this past week Kaz was going for a 4 fire and the person next to me put a chip in Kaz’s landing area, he hit the chip and you know what happened)but the one that erks me the most is when I am shooting to a spot and a player puts his chips down on that spot. I know just move over a bit and no problem right? Well when I am focused on a spot it is like my arm bionically goes there and I wind up hitting those chips sometimes for the good but most times for the bad. However here is what bothers me, if I saw someone dropping his dice on or near my chips almost everytime he shoots MOVE THE FREAKIN CHIPS. But no, they stay there and I have to move my spot. Most times with not good results since the dice tend to come out at a slight angle when I do that. Any help there with that angling business. Well any way there is one player who just gets to me when he is at the table. When he shows up I will seven out very quickly. He just gets in my head for some reason but he will always put his chips in my area and I wind up hitting them 2 or 3 times and he will not move them. I know I should take a yoga class or meditation class so I can super focus this guy out of my head when he shows up. I think I am trying so hard to do well for him that I do the opposite. But the point is he never moves his chips no matter how many times he plays at the table and I am shooting. Just an example one night I shoot a 23 roll, he shows up i shoot a 3 on next roll, by the next roll of mine he leaves I shoot a 32 roll. This is a head game as much as it is a skill game, maybe more head. Professor

I have always felt this game is 90 % in the head and 10% skill.
That is why so many players let others bother them.

Professor it sounds like you struggle moving your spot if you still hit his chips, so when you practice move your spot at will.
When you practice take a chip and move it every other shot learn to hit a different spot, learn to focus on a different spot without losing contration.
Practice the way you want to play.

A great threat with lots of excellent advice. Hope everyone on this board will read and take to heart everything said here.
Professor when this guy shows up take your bets down and move on until you are able to over come this idiot. There is always another craps table or casino. Have done that many times.

One more item. At home when I practice there is always some distraction–the phone rings, someone comes to the front door, or Rose will ask me a question. Although I hate these things and it upsets me, I also welcome them, as we need to practice "reforusing" just like we practice our throw and betting strategy. Don’t anybody forget this as it is important.
I keep trying to get Rose to put on a sexy litte outfit with a short skirt and as I roll tap me on the shoulder and say "would you like something to drink." So far no success in having her do this!!!! Goldfinger is the only one who can get Mrs. Goldfinger to do this!!!

thank you Mr. Finesse and Dr Crapology for the advice. One would think with as much experience as I have had that this would not be an issue. However I am not the only one who has trouble with this guy. One ramdon thrower saw him coming and said oh no this guy is toxic to a table. A cooler maybe. and there are others who have said the same thing. I was going to pass the dice if he is ever there for I can’t just think of myself here for if I shoot and he does get to me then others are effected also. So to protect others including GTC players and random players from losing money my plan is to pass the dice til he leaves. What do you think of that strategy. I hate to give in but the object is to win. Professor

Hi!
Interesting problem. If this gentleman affects more people than just you (which it sounds like he does) then maybe passing the dice AND leaving the table all together is the best plan. If his negative energy is getting to many of the people then they will certainly not throw well either. Now I know they are random throwers anyway but table energy is important to all participants, in my eyes anyway. Come back to the table when he has gone and taken his negativity with him.
Good luck out there!
