New York state has authorized up to four casino licenses to be divided among three regions: the Albany-Saratoga area, the Southern Tier-Finger Lakes region and the Catskills and mid-Hudson River Valley. The proposals in each region vary in size and scope as developers seek the right fit for the local market:

CATSKILLS AND MID-HUDSON RIVER VALLEY: With its proximity to New York City, this region boasts the biggest plans and the most competition.

– Sterling Forest Resort, Orange County. By Genting Americas. Investment: $1.5 billion.

– Montreign Resort Casino, Sullivan County. By Empire Resorts. Investment: $1.1 billion.

– Caesars New York, Orange County. By Caesars Entertainment. Investment: $880 million.

– Resorts World Hudson Valley, Orange County. By Genting Americas. Investment: $830 million.

– The Live! Hotel and Casino, Orange County. By Cordish Companies and Penn National Gaming. Investment: $750 million.

– Hudson Valley Casino & Resort, Orange County. By Saratoga Casino and Raceway and Rush Street Gaming. Investment: $670 million.

– Nevele Resort, Casino & Spa, Ulster County. By Nevele. Investment: $640 million.

– Mohegan Sun at The Concord, Sullivan County. By Concord Kiamesha LLC and Mohegan Gaming NY. Investment: $550 million.

– Grand Hudson Resort & Casino, Orange County. By Greenetrack. Investment: $400 million.
