Craps

Reno revisited

Spread the love

Went up to Reno for a couple of days. Played a lot and had a chance to see how my practice sessions worked out betting wise. I play a version of the Big Skinny (thanks Skinny). I always use the hardway set and have learned a great deal about what the dice should look like when they are in the air. I played the three dollar table with 3,4,5 odds and I paced myself. Although my 401g is good for more action, my throw did not look that great. I saw some problem at the beginning with my grip. I am consistently hitting the same spot and did not hear any comments this trip about hitting the back wall. In this respect the practice was well worth it.
I just ground it out this trip. I didn’t play the afternoon I got there. Just relaxed, took a nap and played that evening. Not much to talk about. By the third day I had adjusted to the altitude and had slept well. I played well that day and because I had started slowly and played the five count on the first two days, I had not dug a deep hole. I know I need some time to acclimate. I did stick to my betting system the entire time and did walk when it just wasn’t clicking. I ate a lot of ice cream and had several nice walks. Because I heed the advice some have generously provided, I am on course and happy with my progress. I look forward to Vegas in October. I would like to take the tuneup and video. I need a closeup look at my shot.
After three and one half days of shooting craps, I came home a winner. I got a lot of play time and I know that my hands relaxed after two days. The grip is such a huge part of my throw. I did not fool around with trying different sets because at this point it would be a distraction. I did have several good rolls including three in the low thirties over the three days. I know that for me the Big Skinny really promotes patience in betting and this is really a good thing for me. Thanks again to those that have posted. Doughboy

Good report. Looks like you are taking the advice we are giving in the class. You are correct in your whole approach to to shooting craps the GTC way. It will make you money or if you had a bad streak the hole you might dig will not be that big and can be over come. Keep it up. Rose and Doc look forward to seeing you in Vegas.

Call Dom or Mr. Finesse to set up a tune up and/or a video. Both are great training tools. See you in Vegas.

I can’t agree with Doc anymore. As an instructor, I took a video elite in AC this year. I needed the tool that it provides you so when my shot is not looking good, I can go back throughout the year and review the video and make the corrections I need to.

Where did you play in Reno? I was there once 3 years ago, stayed at the Peppermill and loved the hotel and casino. But when I went downtown, thinking it was like Fremont Street from Vegas, I was surprised. Even at the condition of Harrahs. Left one of the casinos around 11:00 at night and the security guard informed me it was not safe for me to be walking alone at night.

Otherwise, greet report. Loved reading it. I’m glad you have the restraint to walk away when need be. That’s definitely one of the steps of the GTC process. Good rolling and look forward to seeing you in Vegas.
