Craps

Couple of trips

Spread the love

Recent trip to casino near Cincinnati that looks like the Belagio inside. Nice 12′ tables (all five of them) but only one open. Drove five hours to get there for a class, so after arriving just observed. Tried to go to sleep but the body (legs) kept cramping so at 1 am, said let us see what is happening.

Fairly empty table with SL1 open. I watch for a short time and then step up and gets some chips. Dice come around, I set and throw. Reasonable, BUT a comment from the stick – you really can’t reach out like that with your throw!. Set the dice, take half a step back and throw. I see the boxman nod his head okay, and I roll for several and make a 47% profit. Good enough and go to bed. No more leg cramps and a good nights sleep. The rest of the time there the table was much too crowded to play plus neither SR1 or SL1 were not available.

A few weeks later, was on the biggest cruise ship in the world. Nice casino with a non smoking section and two 12′ tables. Bad news is bets under $25 are single odds only with no piggybacks for the dealers. Nice is that during the day especially early in the morning I could practice on the non smoking with no problems!

Played several times during the week, with nothing to write home about other than being pretty much even to slightly down. Using come bets only I would get tripped up with a short roll every so often.

Then came the last night and I mentally allowed myself to play further than normal. Rolled and sevened out in 12. Rolled out again and was down to $8 in my rack and then it happened over and over again. $166 later I 7nd out and looked down at my rack to count. Who knows how many I shot because I was low on chips I lost count, but the nice recovery was nice to see. The dealers only got $6 and I told them if I could have bet the way I wanted you would have got a lot more and they agreed but that was the rules of the casino.

Vegas in September and we will see what happens.

Thanks

Thanks for posting. Enjoyed reading your adventures in the casinos. The boats do give really bad odds as compared to most land casinos. When out in the middle of the ocean they do have the only game in town. As to not letting you piggy back for the dealers, what we do is add a chip or two on top of our pass line bet and/or odds bet and simply give the win on the $1 chips to the dealer and then make the bet again. You can do the same thing on place bets on the 6 and 8. We usually don’t even bother with the casino when on a cruise ship–like relax or read a book. There are so many other things to do on a cruise. Besides from times to time you do need the opportunity to take a trip that does not involve a casino.

We sill see you in Sept.

Finisher, ended up a few chips but not a few pounds.

Doc, the only bet they would allow other than a fixed $5 ( or multiple) would be a $1 bet on the side on anything. Bet wins and then have to replace the $1.

This cruise was a seven day with three days in class learning about a software program I own.
