BUTCH and Lefty have been experiencing a terrible losing streak. Five losing trips in a row.
Six for BUTCH. Their confidence is down. The naysayers are out. The boobirds have landed.
It’s so bad that Lefty took up drinking beer and got gout. One beer.

Since Lefty can’t walk and Butch’s hamstrings are tight from climbing a ladder to paint his family room and eating area. Wednesday’s practice session was canceled. Thursday’s trip to the casino was on hold until middle of the afternoon when Lefty called and said let’s go. Arriving at the parking lot four hours late and driving up to central city the boys formulated a plan.

The first table was empty so they bought in and began playing. Their last session at this table 2 weeks ago only lasted 20 minutes. That’s all the time it took to transfer their Buy-in into the safe at the casino.
Hoping this time would be different BUTCH debuted his new B2B toss as he delivered the dice to the back wall. It was a point number. He managed a roll of 20 tosses, something the boys had not seen in two full moons. Lefty had a six roll with 5 sevens in it. Butch throws eight times and no pay days. When lefty gets the dice BUTCH tells him to get his toss all the way to the wall.
Leftty starts Tossing and about roll eight a big football player type wants to buy in next to BUTCH. Seeing trouble coming for lefty butch offers him $100 buy-in and wait till he makes his point. He went by the name KJ and says yeah thanks. On roll 15 lefty makes his point and the dude buys in for $465 all in fives tens and 20s. Lefty is upset and it takes BUTCH five minutes to get him to calm down. It takes more than five minutes for three different people to verify the count before they would give him his chips. What a mess. Lefty pulls himself together and manages a roll of 24 before he sevens out.

The table is now full and it takes a little while for the dice to get back to BUTCH. With his confidence back Butch takes the dice and has a roll of 22 tosses. Not to be outdone Lefty comes out on the five and his first three come bets go to the 4,9,and 10. Everyone at the table groans, but his next five tosses are a 10,4,two more tens and then the point of five. BUTCH with a come bet on the nine and place bets on the six and eight does not have a payday yet. Somewhere in the middle of the roll the numbers switched over to the middle of the layout and BUTCH joined in the bonanza. It ends at roll 28 and he tells BUTCH, beat that.
Wow. Everyone passed the dice to BUTCH. He begins his hand with two sixes followed by two eights and followed by a nine. KJ is hollering for the sharpshooter bet, he has two red chips on it. Suddenly the dayshift leaves and the night crew arrives. A new stick man a new dealer and a new box man. The new stick pushes the dice past Butch to KJ. BUTCH retrieved them twice but on the third time he just stood there like an idiot looking around for the dice. It never happened again. He strings together 32 tosses before he gets bit by the devil. He looks at lefty and says. Beat that.
Lefty tries his best but he can only manage a roll of 22. In the roll were back to back hard ways the four and six for KJ with $35 on each. And then the icing on the cake. KJ leans in and says. I gotta learn how to do this.

After color up BUTCH looks around for the lovely Carmello but ends up settling for two scoops of caramel praline ice cream. Lefty has one scoop of strawberry and one scoop of chocolate. In the same bowl.
