Today is the one year anniversary of our dear friend, Bill Burton’s passing. We have missed him greatly over the past year. He was one of our instructors 11 years ago, and we became good friends during the ensuing years. In the Jewish religion there would be a service for this "Yahrzeit." Our thoughts and prayers are with him today.

Bill was one of the most honorable and giving men that I had the pleasure of knowing. He was one of the founders of GTC and he was here to help everyone. I also found out after Bills death of how much he was respected in the poker world. He was considered one of the most influential people when the Hold’em poker craze took off. His first book about Texas Hold’em was a must read by the poker pros.
Bill’s passing was a great loss for me and all of the GTC family. He is always in my prayers and thoughts.
I miss our weekly get together’s at Foxwoods where we would play Craps, BJ and Video Poker or just talk about GTC.
Miss you my friend.

The term "Amber Alert" will always be in our vocabulary because of Bill.
Rest in peace dear friend.

with any troubles or questions at hand. Please support the Parkinson’s foundation in his name. Here email from
Bill that he sent out during his last year with us.
Dear GTC Friends
When I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease I made a decision that I would become an advocate for the cause and do everything possible to help find a cure and raise awareness about this disease. I am participating in a five year clinical research program to help identify the genetic biomarkers that can be used to help find the cause and ultimately a cure. I have also signed up to participate is the yearly Parkinson’s Unity Walk in New York City.
On April 28, 2012, I will join thousands of people with Parkinson’s, and their families and friends to raise funds for research and awareness of Parkinson’s disease. 100% of the money raised goes to research and your donation is tax deductible. I was wondering if you would consider sponsoring me in my efforts to raise money for this research by making a donation in my name. Any amount no matter how small or large will be greatly appreciated.
I thank all of you for your support!
Bill

This was before GTC was started and we were at the table with Bill, his wife, Walter Thomason and can’t remember when we had as interesting and knowledgeable discussion.
