While in West Texas for my grand daughters ballet recital, I had the opportunity to visit with my brother’s son—he took the GTC primer course a couple of years ago. Unfortunately he has not followed up much on his craps but he has gotten into live poker in the casino poker room.
He took a poker boot camp a few months ago and this seems to be his direction at this time. They taught him a whole new way to play. He entered a Senior (over 50) WSOP tournament with a $1000 buy in with 6000 participants. He placed 67th and won a little over $6,000.
Here is the interesting part of our conversation. He said that in the poker the boot camp, that they said a study had been made and that of all of the major professional players only win 25% of the time. I don’t mean winning the tournament 25% of the time, but playing well enough to place and win some money 25% of the time. That means that they pay their buy in and win nothing 75% of the time!!!
We say in GTC that if you will do what we say, practice, take other courses from time to time you will become a "300 hitter." About the same as the top professional poker players. AND guess what, in the poker boot camp they also stress bank roll and proper betting.
I would be willing to wager that card counters only win about 25% to 30% of the time.
Found this interesting and wanted to share. So don’t sweat the short time losses. Remember in the all run all of these players–craps, poker and BF card counting win in the long run.

As an avid poker player over the last ten years, I can tell you with assured certainty that 25% win rate at tournaments is EXTREMELY high. The number for most players is about 10%.
In Fact, I was lightening to a podcast about the win loss ratios of professional poker players, there are currently only three players that have 25% of the tournaments they have cashed in. You can listen to the podcast here. http://pokercast.twoplustwo.com/listen_and_browse.php

But remember when we win we usually win much more than we lose. I know that that is true for Rose and Doc.

I do not buy chips just pay to play every 3 mouths .
Some of the tournaments have over 1,000 players .
My wife laughs at me when I tell her I won 5.00 . But it is fun and costs little since I never buy chips .
I play the 20.00 ones which you need to get to 3-5 for 5.00 win .
I have never played for real money at live table far from that at this point .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂
