After a long absence BUTCH and Lefty return to central city looking for a quick score.
Lefty is early to the parking lot, which is unusual. This must be an omen.
The ride up the hill is stalled by construction for a half hour. BUTCH and Lefty go over strategy and how they’re going to bet. The table is empty when they arrive. Butch’s first four hands are all winners.
Lefty is in the tank. Three more turns with the dice nothing much happens. They color up down half of their Buy in.
They take a break and go to the next casino wash up and proceed to the table. BUTCH throws 12 times and makes a little money. Lefty gets the dice and comes out on the four. Three eights later he makes a four.
Now he comes out on the 10. It takes him four rolls to make the 10. Then he’s on the five. The five sits for a while while Lefty makes the six and the 8 and the six another eight. He is hammering the inside and is already pressed the six and eight to table max. He Ends up making the five and nine and another 10 before he sevens out. A beautiful 44 roll hand. One more turn each and nothing much happened so we color.
We have dinner on them in their restaurant, and then slowly drive home grinning from ear to ear.
