I can’t begin to tell you how much it pleases the instructional staff of GTC how much it pleases us to see former students having success in the casinos–winning money and getting comps as well. But do be aware that our edge is small—usually 1 to 2% and you will have sessions where you will lose. At times even losing for a day or a trip. BUT you will win in the long run. When you run into one of these losing

I hope that others will read your statement, take it to heart and if having a short run lose don’t be discouraged. Congratulations on your success.

I would love to get together and roll sometime. Any chance you will be in Vegas? I am still learning and am having issues with on and off session so I would be great to see what a good steady on is like.

Glad to hear it Eagle Eye. Your dedication and hard work is paying off.

Please take Doc’s words to heart. This is a long journey. It takes vigilance, effort and staying focused to keep it going. Stay positive and take it to them when things are going well. If you have an off day, take it in stride. Stick to the game plan and keep the loss small. Do not allow an upset to impact your good judgement.

Be optimistic and plan for good things to happen but anticipate the worst as well. Being prepared means planning for "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". If you are ready for all situations you can deal with anything they throw at you.

Eagle Eye, Always remember we are 300 hitters—the Ted Williams of dice control. Make sure your bank roll (401G) is in tact and you will be a long run winner and bet accordingly. We thank you for your great positive posts. Keep up the good work. We look forward to seeing you in the casinos soon.

That is the reason I said what I did when commenting on this post before,

If both dice are kicking to the left it is more likely that you are hooking your arm inside on the back swing and round housing your arm on the forward swing ending up with your hand tilted at release with the left side of your hand higher than the right side of your hand. The dice then hit the table at that angle, the left die is higher than the right and they both kick off to the left.

If that is the case, it is not a grip problem. It is an arm swing problem. You need to be sure you bring your hand straight back on the back swing and straight forward on the forward swing so that your hand is perpendicular to the table at release, not at an angle.

You need to watch your hand on your back and forward swing to see if this is what is happening. There are several ways to do this.
1. You could video your arm/hand.
2. Put a big mirror behind the receiving station so that you can see your arm/hand swing.
3. Have someone else watch how you swing your arm/hand.
4. For a few throws in practice, do not look at your target. Instead look down at your hand and watch your arm/hand in the back swing. Bring the dice forward and release them but do not look up at the dice. Keep watching your back swing to be sure you are bringing it straight back and straight forward. Once you feel confident you are bringing your arm/hand straight back then watch your forward swing next. Once again do not look at the target. Look down at your hand, do your back swing and watch your arm/hand on the forward swing to be sure you are going straight forward parallel to the side walls and that your hand is square at release, parallel to the back wall and table.

Try this a few times until you are confident you know how it feels to bring your arm straight back and straight forward. It may feel a bit awkward at first. Hooking your arm inside on the back swing is a more natural feel. But it causes your to swing your arm in an arc and your hand will be tilted at release most of the time.

Let me know how this works for you.

Skinny’s advice is great for retooling back "at the ranch" but in live play with that type of issue, take down most if not all your bets but PL and try to work it out. If that doesn’t work, take a break to retool or call it a day. Better to lose in a small skirmish than lose big $ in a battle. Live to fight another day. Sounds like that was the case for you.

Eagle Eye I have never played were they have the STA . But you said that the stick stopped the game to pay these bets ?Why don’t they wait till a 7 is rolled.
That is were OR WHEN i WOULD THINK THAT THEY WOULD DO THE PAYING SINCE THEN SOME MAY BE PAID AND OTHERS THAT DO NOT WIN ARE TAKEN DOWN .
Is it normal to stop the playing ?
I am thinking that it depends on whither the whole bet is made .
Do they do this just when the all is made ?
Can you make this bet more then one time on the same roller during his roll ?
I understand that this bet is made after a 7 is rolled .
Who keeps track of this bet ?
It seems to me that the way we throw that this is not a good bet .I some times never throw a 2 or 12 for many rolls .Except on come out rolls .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

This is a very rare casino Finisher it is the only one I have ever heard of that pays them all at once, they normally pay then as they hit, it avoids the confusion of who gets paid on the seven out, yes someone throws the small and they pay the small then when they throw the tall they pay the tall and all at that time.

This bet can be a great bet remember what a lay is when playing this bet

Posted by: Finisher on April 23, 2014, 2:41 pm

Bman I see that the small and tall have a 7.76% for the casino . But with the loss if you have with a come out 7 gets me thinking that it is a bad bet then the casino wants you to think .
I think that if you could roll the 2,3 11. or 12 on the come out that would help a lot so you don’t have to change sets to try to get it later on in the roll . Just a thought .
So if you make your point do you try to get the non box numbers then ?
I still remember the time I was at the first casino on the river and this guy had a system that worked for him . He would bet across the board and when a number is hit take it down .I threw the dice 4 times and hit every box number then 7 out . He had only the pl bet up every time I 7 ed out . I may have throw a few crap numbers during those rolls but not to get the small tall or all . They do not have that bet . I lost on all 4 rolls and thought just for a min. about his system . 🙂 🙂
There were no long rolls so did not see if he would bet later in roll .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂

I have found it better to let things happen on there own rather than try to force numbers, changing the set can take away from your focus of making a good shot.

If you have enough control over your shot to call you numbers why not concentrate on lower house edge numbers and just bet more on them.

Posted by: Finisher on April 24, 2014, 6:28 pm

Well I am FAR from calling my numbers let alone hop them right off the bat on first roll .
I think that way of betting will draw attention to yourself .As if setting the dice does not do that enough . It is great if you or anybody else can do this .I just prefer to stay more low key .
I think you are right about betting more on the bets that you can make instead if you have the BR .It seems to me that at times there is a lot of come out 7s which will take the STA BET DOWN .
Good Rolling. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Yes, it is very hard to win at this game. Only those who are disciplined and work hard will succeed.

GTC has never said it is easy to win at this game. But it is possible. We give you the tools, the rest is up to you.

"Eagle Eye" wrote: Odds 1 to 1.56 trillion.

Those are the odds of rolling the dice 154 times in a row without throwing any sevens whatsoever. It does not account for the possibility of sevens on any come out rolls. When we take them into account the odds drop down to 1 to 5.59 billion. Your goal just became significantly easier.

Although in order to surpass the record you need to have at least a 155 hand roll or greater. The odds of that are 1 to 6.48 billion.

Posted by: DoughBoy on May 5, 2014, 4:19 pm

EagleEye; I will always admire your enthusiasm. Go for it. My approach is just a little more contained. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to see both of us succeed. I work hard as well at this game and though my progress is slow, I just keep one foot in front of the other. All the best. Skinny, I love the math. Thanks for all you bring to the site. DoughBoy

I did hit the local casino big the last few weeks. I usually go with a friend who is good at hitting 6’s n 8’s, even the hardways. I pressed my bets on rolls of 27, 36, and my roll of 43 and walked away four times with profits in the FIVE figures. I was careful cashing chips.
