Whenever I am shooting well, I have to be super protective of my shooting hand. I shoot lefty from SR1. I can become besieged my fist bumps and high fives. I always turn so that my right hand is the only one in contact with the other shooters. Some people will exuberantly smash my hand. They are not getting to my left.
The second problem is not losing my mindset or Zenlike trance. I try to focus on shooting in a somewhat robotic way. I try to tune out any distractions, i.e, loud, drunk, belligerent people. Admittedly, fist bumps and the like are somewhat intrusive, but ignoring them has its hazards too. Friendly people can turn on you for rejecting their camaraderie. To some extent it is a lose lose situation. I have learned to stay on course with some physical contact. I have convinced myself that it is the lesser of two evils.

It also will keep your shooting hand cleaner to not expose it to other people at the table. As Martha Stewart would say "A clean shooting hand is a good thing!" 😀
