Assault on the HMS Bounty-ful

I’m sure most of you dread going to the craps table, getting your optimum position and have the rest of the table full of CF-ers (chicken feeders) and random CHUCKERS.

Over the weekend (02/15) I put a crew together to combat this scenario. Four GTC SHOOTERS were assembled with five other interested craps players that wanted to witness the GTC way of throwing and betting (5 count). We tried to time it so when a favorite table (12 footer w/ Bonus Bet) of ours first opened we would occupy the table and freeze out CF-ers. We basically staffed 9 of the 12 positions at the table. The day began “cold” and I was worried some of the observers would not stick around as they were betting on every shooter. Even myself, as I was immediately going up on my fellow GTC shooters.

The strategy was sound. It just took a little more time to warm up our arms and get a feel for the table. Some of the observers also tried to be the hero and throw from the end of the table. They set the HW’s, but could not compensate for the distance. Not much success. The tide started to turn and we hit our first big payout. The energy from the table (hoops & howls) brought many observers from other areas of the casino. We made sure the table crew was involved in our action with several HW bets for the crew. At one point I looked up and noticed the red chips in the bank were down to a half row on either side from their usual 4 rows deep by 6 across. The green chips were also severely depleted. I could not help but mention to the pit boss she should call for another replenishment load of chips. She reluctantly nodded.

We gave the HMS Bounty-ful a couple of good broadsides. The 9 of us boarded the ship, plundered, pillaged and looted them to the collective tune of $10,600. I’m sure the Bounty-ful was taking water as several volleys were below the water line. The HMS Bounty-ful was last seen (as we looked over our shoulders on our way to the parking garage) heading for a safe port, of course not under full mast and some choppy seas. The commander of the ship was the Second in Charge of the whole casino (according to one of the table crew). He was in observance for the later part of our escapade. His serious look told us all he was not a happy sailor.

I was confident that the SHOOTERS assembled for the voyage would prevail. Even if a few of us had cold rolls, a hot shooter or two would come through. Our plan is to employ the strategy at another passing “boat” in the near future. We do not want to hit the same vessel to frequently as that would draw to much attention on our strategy.

Just a side note, even though we intended to freeze out the CF-ers, I believe they still have their place. Without the random throwers and the method they bet the coffers we just plundered would not be refilled. We just don’t want them playing when we’re shooting.

Respectfully – Scooter the Shooter

I get real excited when I read a report like this. I Like it when a game plan pans out.
