Craps

Another Great Trip

Spread the love

My wife and I went to a casino the other day and I couldn’t get passed 4 numbers. I could get 3 passes but never a 4th. My wife says to me that she is going to toss the dice. She set on 11 and tossed the dice for about 40 minutes. Many repeat inside numbers. It was crazy. She started with $60.00 and turned it into thousands. Two men to the left of her won about $15,000 each plus the $5,000 fire bet. The two men tipped her about $500.00. Crazy, Crazy Night! 😮 😯

Great story. We always like winning stories. By the way has your wife taken the class or was she just "winging" the dice down the table??

Hope you have many more stories like this one.

Great trip report and thanks for sharing with us.

Doc, she had 4’s on the sides with 11 on top and facing her. She just tossed them and let them go into the back wall. She tossed low with a little 45 degree. She used like a tong grip. She was lucky. It’s really interesting to know, when I have trouble hitting numbers at the tables that she will set for a 11 and usually do very well.

Great story ….. sounds like she has potential record-breaking talent

And, after the beating the princess and I took the past 2 weekends, maybe we need to play craps with you

Just getting Lucky. Sometimes we lose money too. Just not much. I went to a casino yesterday. 2 or 3 point numbers.
Here’s a little story for you. Yesterday, I walked up to a craps table while down $140.00 from betting on others at another table. I said to myself, I have got the talent and I can do this! I took a big risk and hopped a Hard 6 with a good amount of money on it. I also bet the regular Hard 6. I told the stickman to work it on the come out. The stickman looked at me as if I was crazy for making the bet. I told myself that I need perfect form and follow through on this shot. I got a little angry at the casino for taking my money at the other table. 😡 I used that anger to give me motivation to hit that perfect shot. I took my time with the shot and hit that Hard 6. I was very happy after that shot and all the weight fell off my shoulders. Only one problem, the stickman put all my money on the regular hard 6 and they didn’t want to pay me for the hop bet. The man next to me told the pit boss that I hopped the Hard 6 with xxx amount of money on it. The pit boss wouldn’t pay me for the hop bet. I was so into hitting that perfect shot that I didn’t double check my bets. I complained later to the supervisor and they payed me for my hop bet. I walked away from the table after I put it to them. 😀

I was at one table yesterday and two guys were yelling "Make It Rain", "MAKE IT RAIN!!!", and "Holla.. and Holla Back" at me while I was tossing the dice. They were drinking heavy and where Very Funny People. I was hitting numbers and I liked the encouragement.

fANTASTIC
Love to see people making money

I do have a question though because i have to be doing something wrong. Over
the past 4 years i have had a good number of 40 minute rolls. I start with about
$50-$60 in bets and other than hitting the fire bet or all tall and small, i have never
made a $1000 on any of the rolls. Now i understand a 40 minute roll means one thing
when there 3 people at the table, and another when the table is full.

What type of betting is done or raised to, to make that kind of money.

Maybe this will help answer your question gman.

The guys to her left made really good money. She made some money and she was tipped some money. She just got lucky. Plain and simple. I think she made 2,000. I think you have to consider also that she was getting tipped by one guy eveytime she rolled a 12. He was putting $150.00 to $200.00 on a horn high 12 and she was hitting them. He had all the numbers covered and he knew what he was doing. I saw this man lose $2,000 on other shooters before my wife started her lucky roll. You know I put down $15,000 plus $5,000 fire bet for both. But, one guy had more $15,000. I think he made $20,000 plus $5,000 fire bet. These guys had a lot of money at risk and it didn’t seem as if it bothered either one of them to lose money.

There was only two guys to the left of her. The other end of the table had a few people with no real space. One fella pushed his way in at the other end of the table. He tried to come in by us but I told him there was space at the other end of the table.

Skinny, great link… Forgot this, always good to get a dose of GTC reality every now and then.
Those $1k+ events are few and far between, moderate wins and low losses are the real long term game plan.

Posted by: Skinny on January 23, 2014, 3:51 pm

Exactly, the Griz. Slow and steady wins this race. It takes a lot of patience and discipline.

Being an advantage player is not as sexy and exciting as going for the big one. But the payoff in the end is well worth the effort and energy needed to be a winner. It is far more satisfying to add up your sessions at the end of some longer time period and find yourself in the black instead of the red.

Because "Winning is the Most Fun"!!! 😀 😀

I am also a firm believer in the GTC principles and math associated with the fine game of craps. I would never willingly make up stories nor tell a false tale.I have won more money playing craps then my wife. I have always used the hardway set and played by the math of the game. Every so often I will brake a rule, but only when I know I can hit that hard 6, 8, or 10. 99% of the time I follow the principles and math of the game. It fascinates me that some players need a dose of reality so often and never win as much as me. I don’t always win of course but my wins are pretty steady and quite often. I would love play at a craps table with a few good shooters. Skinny always has good advice and I try to follow it has much as possible. I’m being summons by the wife to watch Impractical Jokers on TV. Talk later.

Eagle Eye,
Looking forward to seeing you again. How about Tunica in April?
I will make sure Lefty comes also.

When you took the class in Memphis I knew that with your dedication to the game
and your commitment to practice that you would be a success.

As far as hopping the hard six, if you can do it, Bet it!!! After the book Cutting Edge Craps
came out I would hop the hard six on every come out when I threw. I didn’t make a lot
of money, but I sure enjoyed the looks on the boxman’s face every time I hit it.

One time at the largest casino in CCBH I bought in and it was a 10 dollar table so I figured
I would hop it for a dime. The table was kinda dead and no one was paying much attention
until I stuck that pair of 3’s on the comeout. We had every official in the casino at the
table watching me, if it would happen to me today, I would just think they are here to see
a master at work, but back then I just colored up and left.

Keep practicing and good things will happen.

Goldfinger, it feels good to be able to hit that hard 6 on the come out. It gives one great emotional and mental stimulation. I wish we where able to do it all the time. Thanks for the compliment. I can only hope to be as good as you one day. I consider Timmer and you mentors. You all are great ambassadors of the game. I never toss the dice well initially, but when I practice for about 15 minutes I usually do pretty good. Timmer and you told me about something that I should be doing before I practice or play and it works extremely well. I thank you all everytime I win money. I realize that I am human and it is only natural to fail or make mistakes some of the time. I get over it, move on, and practice that much harder next time. Goldfinger and Lefty, I will be in Memphis this year. Looking forward to seeing both of you! Life’s a journey and with good friends it’s a blessing! 😀
