Thanks for the kind words guys, I am just learning my way around here. I am anxious to begin, but I know practice HAS to come first. I am REALLY learning a LOT from reading these forums though, a true treasure trove of knowledge, thank you.

I talked with Yonix last evening on the phone and he is very excited about his investment in GTC. One thing I told him is that we are very close to the AC class in March and that all I wanted him to work on at this time was his grip and dice setting. I said this because I did not want him to develop any bad habits with his toss.

Bad habits are one of the hardest things for the instructors to overcome in class. Most students will pick up the toss very quickly once we are in class, the biggest problem all have is with the GRIP. So please work on your grip, this is where it all begins.

I am speaking here for all of the instructors, we are excited and looking forward to making new friends and helping all of you in becoming Advantage Players.

Welcome YoniX.,

Finesse is right, we spend a lot of time undoing bad habits. It’s so much easier to get someone to follow our advise and instruction when there are no habits or muscle memory developed. The class runs smoother and it’s more balanced for the other students too. Looking forward to a day when/if you come out west.

Vegas Baby!

Take care,

Welcome Aboard! Great information, great bunch of GTC folks and a great chance to learn a ton about craps. This site is like the old adage that the more you put into it the more you get out of it>

Good Luck

Such great and kind words, and I HAVE been working on my grip. And I hope (of course this is after both Vegas AND time for practice (like getting to Carnegie Hall) I will be hitting up a few casinos, hopefully with some of my new friends I will make in class.

I have only been to Vegas once in my life, and that was for CES back in 2009. While I was there, I saw a guy who was betting against the dice (it turned out he was a professional poker player) make over $2500 right there. And he taught me how to go against the dice, but what really made my jaw drop is that just before he left, he tore up the check. Oh well, what are ya gonna do. (The Pit boss apparently knew him, and gave him a check for $2500 as opposed to giving him $2500 in cash)

Ever since then I have had a desire to learn ALL the nuances of the game and I think with the class coming up in March, I can really do a lot of winning.

Funny Story Begins Now
Funny story while we are talking about Vegas, when I was there in ’09, they had the Jeopardy Tournament of Champions there taping episodes to be aired in March (it was just after the New Year so it was Early January for those not familiar with CES) So, when in the course of Jeopardy, there are parts where there are commercial breaks, and at that time, they actually DO break; they have the contestants turn around and Alex Trebek interacts with the audience in the form of Q&A. Well, I HAD to jump on this opportunity and ask a question (how many chances like this do you really get, right?) So, I raised both my hands, and I was the first to get called on, and with as straight a face as I could muster I asked Alex Trebek "Have you ever, or do you ever plan to have Sean Connery on celebrity Jeopardy?" Well at that the audience ROARED with laughter, as did Alex Trebek; once the laughter died down, he replied, "no, and we never will either." Well, that’s my funny Vegas story, hope you all enjoyed, telling it always brings a smile to my face :).
Funny Story Ends Now

I hope to have many more fun adventures in Vegas in the months and years to come.

And… my grip work continues, I keep dice at hand, and I practice my grip and setting them just right, like Finesse told me over the phone.

Thanks for being so supportive guys, SUCH a great group here, REALLY.
