Dice going left from SL

Spread the love

Hello all! Wanted to see if anyone has thoughts/suggestions on my dice going left when shooting from SL. The dice look ok (not great) in the air, hit table about 6 inches or so from wall, hit the back wall and then roll left close to left side mixing bowl. This happened fairly consistently on my last trip to Tunica in mid November.

Bo,

Here is another thread on the same topic. It carries over to 2 pages so be sure to click on next or 2 when you get to the bottom of the posts on the first page. Hope it helps.

Thanks Griz and Skinny. Both of those posts were good to read and makes sense. I can see where I may have been turning my wrist on the follow through as I had received some grief from the Stick early in the trip that my throwing arm could not cross in front of him. So I was probably try to alter my follow through. First time I had a Stick complain about that. This was also the same trip that a Box Man announced "to the table" (really me since I was the only one 5 counting) that if you don’t bet, then you don’t throw when it is your turn. 😮 😀 Appreciate the info!

The rule is your arm is not supposed to cross in front of the stickman. That is for the protection of the chips in front of the stickman. The stickman is supposed to watch the dice in the air and can not watch the chips at the same time. It is possible to reach in front of the stick when throwing and grabbing some of the bets in the prop area in front of him.

Most casinos don’t bother enforcing the rule but some dealers or casinos may be more strict about it. If a stickman ever mentions it to you again just apologize and take a step to your left. Throw from SL 1.5 and you won’t have any problem with your arm going in front of the stickman. You will not have to alter your follow through.

A casino we played at regularly got paranoid about it because a female dealer got hit in the chest by a shooter’s hand. She made a complaint to management and they became extremely strict about the rule. But we knew it and by shooting from 1.5 we had no problems.

Skinny nailed it, when I get too close to the No Fly Zone, I just take a half step to the left.

When your dice are traveling to the right or left after they hit the table is caused by 1 or 2 things.
1) your hand is not level to the table top at release, it is angled to either the right or left.
2) you have a problem with your grip, correct this and your problem should go away.
