Showboat Casino Hotel has been fined $7,000 for failing to shuffle playing cards and not adhering to proper money counting procedures.
According to orders filed with the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, Showboat failed to shuffle playing cards on six instances between March and September, resulting in a complaint filed by regulators on Nov. 8. That complaint spurred a $4,000 fine for the casino.
A separate complaint filed on Nov. 8 by regulators details Showboat’s failure to abide by counting procedures in June. That complaint resulted in a $3,000 penalty, according to documents executed by DGE Director David Rebuck on Nov. 25.
