The first thing people will tell you is to take a class and get professional help which is totally the right thing to do.

But until then I would suggested take it one step at a time and go back to basics. Judging yourself from the outcome verses your form is not the way to look at this in the big picture.

What the dice look like on the way to your landing zone? Are they staying together, rotating around the same axis, parallel and perpendicular to the table surface and back wall, traveling in an appropriate arc, carrying the proper amount of back spin, staying together after they land, not rolling way back toward you, not splitting, traveling straight, – lots to think about and a lot to get all balled up trying to make corrections if you don’t know what corrections match what the dice are or are not doing.

I’m assuming you have read several of Frank and Dom’s books and maybe Sharpshooters. Now go back through the books and make yourself a check list of the what and why’s so you can cirque your throw and try one of the recommended corrections. Then go back to the basics and rebuild your throw.

Grip, grip and more grip practice. Practice picking up the dice and examining your grip and the location of each finger. A large dresser mirror where you can grip and pick up and easily see to check position.

Practice the grip drop. Are you holding the dice light enough and balanced between your fingers. How do they fall out of your fingers?

Proper back swing, proper follow through and at the proper speed. Oh and proper hand position and holding the c so that you can feel the dice roll off your fingers. If it were only that easy.

It’s kind of a – the dice are doing this so I must be doing that which in not the way it is supposed to be done and change one thing at a time and just one until you prove to yourself the you are making an impact of some kind.

It’s knowledge, practice and patience. Work on the form and the outcomes will follow.

Gene, I see more folks are advising you as I did when we talked on the phone last week. Like I told you, save your money so you can invest in taking a GTC class.

Practice the 3 finger grip until you take the class . That would be the best thing I can tell you . Iwish I had that advise before .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

question 1 do you believe that you can influence the dice?

Question if you can influence the dice that means you can also have a negative influence on the dice as you srr shows.

Stop the bad habits before it gets very difficult to change go to school get the basics at least.

Bman is right about this . It will depend a lot on on long you have been doing the bad habits . Some think that if you are just joining you have less bad habits . I wished that I had taken the class the first year that I started playing craps . But that was over 40 years ago . So you will have a better chance to get rid of the bad habits unless you have been rolling them bones longer .
There is not much said about what to do if you have been rolling for so many years before you take the class . But they only teach the 3 finger grip in the class so if you use any other grip forget it and just start practicing the 3 finger grip .Like Bman said you don’t want more bad habits .It took almost 2 full days to get out of griping for the 2 finger. Still do it at times .
I look at it like this .I played base ball on the corners in Chicago but never played it for real but now I have a chance to be coached by the best . Even tho I have no expectations to play in the big ledges. This should help in the long run . Its a journey .
Boy if I know what I know now and was 21 . 😀 😀
Time goes by fast enjoy while you can .
I still remember the time I got hooked on craps .
It went like this .Was down to my last 16.00 and told my girl friend lets go to craps table . It was a dollar table . There was a drunk cow boy rolling the dice . Between his rolls and mine we walked away 5 hrs later with 317 .00 I have no clue what I bet on but did not know any thing about pressing .So it was just on plain old wins .
No hard way bets jest simple bets .
Good journey ahead .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀
