Spread the love

The beautiful Alligator Rose and Doc and giving some thought to heading to this US island for a few days after the first of the year (to get our of the cold for a few days), but have no idea where to stay. Has anyone been there and know of a really good place to stay with a beach and close to shopping for Rose. A casino would certainly be a plus but not a requirement, but one close by would not be a bad thing. All inclusive to include meals would be great as well.

Appreciate any ideas from our GTC friends.

Don’t think there are any all-inclusives’ so it depends on your beach, casino, and shopping priorities. We recently did a search and ended up deciding on an all-inclusive in Montego Bay, Jamaica for March. Some of the airlines have packages and that may be a good way to go.

Richard, thanks for your reply. I was aware that all inclusive is a rarity in Puerto Rico. In order to make this trip as inexpensive as possible I need to fly SWA as I can use my companion pass for Rose and frequently flyer miles or me. Although SWA purchased Air Trans, Puerto Rico is the only island that I can use the above perks. All I need is a ground (hotel package) which I will book through a travel agency or SWA. Hopefully someone has been there and has some good ideas as where to stay. GTC people are the best at sharing these types of ideas.

I have a female friend who is a stewardess for SWA. I’ll ask for you. I will ask Glenn who is a pilot with Continental Air Lines. He and I went to school together many years ago. He flies ex-president’s around the world. ( Beach and Close Shopping). I contacted them and will let you know tomorrow. 😉 Glen is in London right now and Anisely is off on a trip. I will try later.

I too fly SWA with points and have companion status for my wife. If you look at other locations where AirTrans flies it is a pretty decent deal to convert award miles to AirTans credits. We are converting SWA awards to go to Montego Bay so that we can stay at an all inclusive Holiday Inn Resort with Priority Club rewards. But no casinos or gambling. We were also considering Aruba as SWA/ AirTrans flies there but no Priority Club all inclusive but supposed to be good gambling.

Let me know how Puerto Rico works out as me may give it a try before the Aruba adventure. Also SWA will be opening up to Hawaii in the near future as all of the California/Orange County employees are getting excited about the move. By the end of 2014 most all if not all Air Trans destinations are supposed to be converted. I think it will start when the Wright Amendment expires in Texas an they can start flying direct flights out of Texas that are beyond Oklahoma, and the other neighboring states.

Looking forward to your report.

There is a company out of Dallas and one out of Atlanta that run gambling junkets to that part of the world. You might have enough pai gow and craps rated play that they would take you either free or at a reduced rate.

When we lived in NM Casinos International (the Dallas company) flew us somewher every month for free.

Maybe this will help.

L & C—Thanks for that input. I have flown with Casino International in the past so will give them a call.

Dr., Glenn and Anisley didn’t get back with me, but the ex-saints player John Fourcade said was going to check and get back to me with info. 😀

I played in PR a few years ago. The conditions weren’t that favorable. Just come down to Florida and take a cruise.
