Craps

One of the fun parts of this crazy journey…

Spread the love

Is tallying-up your roll log. Anybody else get the excited? Almost feel like a kid at Christmas gathering up the numbers and then putting them in my spreadsheet. Great data to show you actually ARE impacting the roll of the dice! Fun to show my nay-sayer friends my at-a-glance sheet after 25K rolls!
Only thing better? Winning at the casino!
Game on! 😈

Hi GRIZ Have a question . Have you compared your practice rolls to your casino rolls . I hope that you do better under pressure .I practice by myself so it is a big change to roll in a casino . I some times put on the radio . But other then that it is quiet .
The point 7s are still killing me . 😀 😀
Hope to meet you some day.
Good Rolling.

Griz,

We had our neighbors over for dinner a couple weeks ago and talk got around to
craps and lets see what you can do.
We went down to the table and I started throwing and betting as though I was in a
casino, 2 short warmup hands and then I rolled a 36 hand. The fact that I performed under
pressure had that warm Christmas feeling all over me. It was almost as good as winning
at the casino. Nah!!!

Why don’t you describe what is going on with the point-7’s that are "killing you," Finisher?

After all of your help and contribution to this board over the years, I’m sure everyone would be delighted to try and return the favor… 🙂

Finisher, I do not track my casino rolls, I sometimes may count but even that distracts me. I usually play on almost to empty tables so dice come back fairly quickly. I loved it when I used to roll with a guy who charts, that was some great feedback.
As for the point-7 Fiestas that sometimes come on like a plague…
There is no science behind it, but I learned from another GTC friend to change up my dice set, so change from hardways to 3-V. That may be the me mental part, Then I just refocus on the grip. Which is probably the real science behind it!
When I am in a funk or a jam, just head back to my notes and regroup.
Good luck to you!

Timmer I guess deep inside me I hate to roll point 7s period . I looked over last mouths practice sheets .
I rolled 27 days.
2 rolls 26 times .
3 -27 4 -18 5-19 6-18 7-16 8-18 9-13 10-9 11-11 12-6 13-2 14-7 15-11 16-4 17-4 18-5 19-3 20-4 21-1 22-3 23-3 24 -2 25-2 26-0 27-0 28-0 29-0 30-1 one 56 roll and that is total.
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Out of the 27 point 7s 7 were 3/4 8 that were 5/2 and 12 that were 6/1 . I think I need to work on my grip more and relax .
I guess I could look at it from a different way . Like one point 7 each day I rolled . 😀 😀 It sure sounds better that way . 😀 😀
I sure would like to see that change to one a week . 😀
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Has anyone been able to calculate finisher’s SRR from the above data,
even though it’s not enough rolls for a valid calculation?

Does "2 rolls 26 times" mean 26 point-7s?,
i.e. 26 hands each having two rolls, containing a non-7 and then a 7?
Does "3-27" mean 27 hands each having three rolls, containing two non-7s and a 7?
A hand being a set of rolls ending with and including the 7-out.

And were sequential 7’s recorded or ignored?

etc.

STS If a second 7 comes up it is counted in the next roll .So say you start out with a 7 or 11 or crap number you could still have more point 7 outs then what I thought was . Thank you for bringing this up .
I just thought of the 2 rolls being point 7 outs were there may be even more . I will have to go back and check . Hope there are not vary many more .
Will check that out and post later .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

STS Went back not good .Out of the 27 rolls of 3 14 were point 7 out with 5 with a win for the 7 or 11 .Had one 4 roll that was a point 7 out . One roll of 5 that was a point 7 out also .
Thanks for the info will think about this when recording .
Does get my blood flowing more tho. 😀 😀
I have had a roll in the pass that was 17 rolls before est. a point number SO I should have know this could happen . Did not check above the 5 number . Did not want to know that fig. 😀 😀
Total 43 7 outs I will have to work on that a lot harder then I have .
I have no idea how many I should have for 2,331 rolls .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

One seven for every six rolls is random. If you have fewer sevens you are doing better, more would be bad.

2,331 divided by 6 equals 388.5 If you have less than 388 sevens you are doing well more would not be good.

2,331 divided by 7 equals 333. If you have 333 or less sevens your SRR (Sevens to Rolls Ratio) would be 7 or higher. You want an SRR greater than 6.2 and the higher the better.

Divide the number of sevens you threw in those 2,331 rolls into 2,331 to determine your SRR.

Posted by: Finisher on November 16, 2013, 5:32 am

Skinny Had 364 7s with 116 being on come out . So 6.40 .Just made it passed that 6.2 but not by much .But I did like the fact that I won on 3% of those 7s .
Good Rolling. 😀 😀

Posted by: Skinny on November 16, 2013, 7:12 am

If you are using the all sevens set on the come out you can subtract those sevens from your total, otherwise they get counted. If you are using the all sevens set, then you have only 248 sevens out of 2,331 rolls and an SRR of 9.40. That would be a great SRR.

But if you are not using the all sevens set then 6.4 is not a terrible SRR. It is good enough to give you a slight edge on pass/come bets and place bets on the 6 or 8. But it is only slightly better than random so it will be a tough road to travel.

Posted by: Finisher on November 17, 2013, 12:44 am

Skinny I normally use the 66 on top or 65 and the 55 faces me or 56 . I still have a little gambler in me with the world bet on come out only .
Good Rolling.
