Well, just got back from a 3 night trip to Vegas. This was a full-on business trip, not much time to really get in the groove and have ample time to play craps. Sorta like when the GTC instructors are in town for the classes, full days and sometimes evenings, with clients.
Anyways, found myself getting finicky about where I wanted to play given the small amount of time available. Even to the point of not playing where I was staying this time as they have been known to throw a bit of heat to the rollers way the last few years. (mid-strip) Too bad… lots of empty tables to choose from. For safety-sake and ease of play, headed down to my favorite spot – greeted warmly by the crew, but had new table supervision/Pit crew from my earlier times. No issues, just different faces, thankfully. Maybe it was the warm welcome from the crew and the old supervisors coming over to say hello that helped set the tone. A good reason to be polite and tip the crews, it pays you back over time.
As for the rolling, really nothing monster-like, from all indications I came back even or up just a bit. Again, only had a couple mornings to roll given the work duties. First morning lost about 40% of my buy-in, only could muster rolls into the 9’s and 10’s with very few points made. SL1 was the usual spot. Just never really got into any zone or comfortable. 5-counted the few that were at the table. A dice-setter from the end mustered-together a couple nice rolls and that helped gain back a bit more.
Second morning had a random roller standing at SL1, so took #2 spot and decided to keep the toss long and slow and see where it goes. Other than one point-seven, it was going fairly well with low to mid teens on 4 rolls. Was pondering leaving when I thought I would stay one more time and just enjoy and have fun with the toss. Just love it when a stretch of good music starts to play too… relax, focus on the grip and softly release to the back wall, rinse & repeat…! Keep singing softly to the tunes, then heard the crew doing the same thing. Yes, this was going to be fun! Let the songs take your mind away from the environment and just focus on the task at hand. Lost count at high 20’s, maybe it was low 30’s, only made 2 points, first point was made on the 3rd roll, but banged the heck out of the 8 which I had been press/pulling. Found that the 2nd position did not do much negative damage and actually may have helped the extension and release.
As for the elusive point (it was a 10)… do many of you change your setting to acquire specific numbers? Things were going well with the hard-way and I did not want to tinker with that since the toss and landing all looked good. But thought about it…
Looking forward to a couple days in November to return and repeat the fun!

During our last trip where I rolled a 60, I was pounding the 6’s and 8’s, which weren’t my points. However, they were repeating so often, we all made a very nice profit. I don’t care if I never hit the oint under those circumstances. I would much rather be repeating numbers so I can press my bets higher and higher. If I should hit and repeat the established point, all well and good, but if I make good money on other numbers I am very happy, and so are my teammates.

Now there is that school of thought that you can work the numbers you are hitting on the come out so you get paid but you must always play to your edge.

I wish I was good enough to think that I could change my set to make a point .
Even when I roll a 6 or 8 for a point I still don’t think that will be easy to make . But am happy if I do roll it and it comes up again .
I think any point made is a good point . 😀
Good Rolling. 😀 😀
